Physical Description: Kiala is 5' 7" and weighs approx. 125 lbs. She has full sleeve tattoos on both arms that stop just above the wrist so as to not show when wearing a dress uniform. She has brownish-black hair with light green eyes.

Personality: While Kiala has the typical Vulcan control of her emotions, she can be slightly sarcastic. While she believes in peaceful resolutions, she is not above a good fight. To those that don't know her, she can at first seem dour and emotionless; however, those that know her are privy to her jovial personality and wit.

Character History: Kiala's five times great grandfather married a human woman, making Kiala approximately 2% human. Kiala grew up as a typical Vulcan until the age of 12 when her parents told her of her arranged marriage to a young Vulcan male named Spyk (pronounced "Spike"). She rebelled against the idea of marrying a man and told her parents she was only interested in women. This caused great consternation and she was bullied by the other children.

When she was old enough, she attended the Vulcan Science Academy and graduated 5th in her class. While almost full-blooded Vulcan, Kiala was denied admission to the Vulcan Expeditionary Group due to the small amount of non-Vulcan blood in her family. She chose to go to Earth and enlist in Starfleet.

She was very studious and excelled in her classes, especially Advanced Tactical, Command, Diplomacy and Leadership. While at the Academy, she was a member of the wrestling and parrises squares teams. She had wanted to join the elite Nova Squadron but was beat out for the only open position by her then girlfriend, Katie Hall. Kiala was proud of Katie but a little disappointed that she failed to make the team and there was some friction between the two but it was quickly forgotten as Katie excelled on the team.

After graduation, Kiala and Katie were given separate assignments and, although they tried to maintain a long distance relationship for 2 years, they eventually broke up. Aside from a few flings here and there, Kiala has remained single since she and Katie separated.

Kiala's first assignment was as a helm office aboard the Miranda class USS Brattain (NCC-21166). As her career progressed, Kiala moved through the ranks and was offered the position of First Officer aboard the Constitution class USS Victory (NCC-9754) in 2364. She accepted the position and served with distinction, quickly earning the respect and admiration of both the captain, Marien Zimbata, and crew.

When the new Nebula Class starships went into production in 2367, Captain Zimbata recommended her for a promotion to Captain and Kiala was offered her first command aboard the just completed USS Prometheus (NCC-71201). As captain of the Prometheus, she participated in both the Battle of Sector 001 against the Borg and Captain Picard's blockade of the Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War. She continued to serve with distinction aboard the Prometheus and has now been offered command of the USS Artemis.
