Backstory: Korad was pressed into service of the dreaded Lumber Consortium due to his father's folly. To repay his debt to the lumber consortium, his father sold his then 16 years old son Korad as an indentured servant to the Lumber Consortium, being contracted to work for a decade to pay off his family's debt to them. Toiling away day and night, Korad managed to last until the day his contract was up, but his superiors didn't want to just lose a valuable worker such as he was. They tried to get him to sign another contract, more years of work for low pay. Korad didn't want to and as such, he managed to greatly anger his superior. He had a bunch of his goons work him over and then leave him deep in the woods to fend for himself.

He was saved by followers of Erastil, who were settled in a resource-rich area that the Lumber Consortium wished to exploit. Korad stayed with them for a while and helped them fend off the attacks by the hired goons of the Lumber Consortium that tried to push them from their lands. Eventually, the Lumber Consortium just cut their losses and moved elsewhere. Korad himself has decided to do the same.

Since then, Korad has been wandering the land, serving as a mercenary to whomever paid enough. This eventually led him to travel northeast to the Broken Lands, as he figured he could find work there.
