On first meeting Levi people notice that he is not that tall and somewhat underweight, standing as he does at 5ft 10in and weighing under 150lbs. His deep olive complexion and brown eyes reveal his ancient blood ancestry, and his thick black hair is always neatly trimmed or shaved close to his head; his face covered by a light shadow of facial hair. He is never out of his engineering overalls as he is proud of his accomplishments and skills, and, though he does his best to keep his clothes clean and in good condition, he is always tinkering or fidgeting with some tool or piece of equipment and his clothing is invariably pock-marked with stains, burns and tears.

He is a quiet man, coming across as quite shy but his eyes burn with an intense curiosity and awareness. It doesn't take long for people to realise that he is deeply awkward and uncomfortable with newcomers, and he possesses a number of strange idiosyncracies including talking to his equipment, and personifying important equipment, especially ships and vehicles. But his skill as an engineer is obvious, and once he is comfortable and discussing a topic he is familiar with, he is often overbearing and difficult to keep quiet.

What is disconcerting is Levi's photographic memory and his annoying habit of reminding people of things they have said or done out of context. While innocent it can be embarrassing or annoying for people unaccustomed to his ways.
