Dani has had a hard childhood.  Her mother works in the silk-veiled parlors in the back of The Rouge Lady, a burlesque and gambling hall that doubles as an illegal brothel. She is forced to work under the watchful eye of Kabran Bloodeye who owns the illicit pleasure den.  Its a hard life.  Her father, a strict and cruel man, forced her to pick the pockets of patrons to earn extra money. He was killed by Kabran for stealing from him.  Now, Kabran forces her to steal for him.  Oft times it was easy, as the patron was so drunkenly unaware as to be an easy mark.  She has suffered beatings, both from her father, and from Kabran's thugs when she was caught in the act, or if Kabran was just in a bad mood.  She learned to make it easier to pick pockets by developing the skill of ventriloquism.  A distracted patron was a bit easier to pick the pockets of.  She learned to hide from mad patrons, from her father, and from Kabran's thugs.  She developed quick skills and honed her dexterity to its highest degree. She gets caught much these days, but she longs to get out from under Kabran's oppressive rule and perhaps make enough coin to get her mother out of that place.  At sixteen, at the plea of her mother, she left, and seeks life among adventurers.

Ventriloquism:  The character has learned the secrets of "throwing his voice". Although not actually making sound come from somewhere else, the character can deceive others into believing this to be so. When using ventriloquism, the supposed source of the sound must be close.  The audience or subject must be watching the character since part of the deception is visual.  A successful check means the character has successfully deceived his subject.

HISTORY:  Alaion, one of many, was born during the Awakening. A light brighter than any others in the night sky shone in the constellation of Corellian Larethian in the year of 4485.
