You control your character and your character only.
For example:
* Your character searches through the couch cushions for change, only you can decide whether or not your character finds any change.
* Your character goes looking for another player's character then you can't automatically find that character. The other player has to allow you to find them. Unless you ask ahead of time.

Your character is not an unkillable god. Even if they are the god of something they can die.

As for Bennet's home timeline, I don't really have any suggestions on that. The fact that he's been asleep for a few hundred years and is just now awakening, he could literally be from any sort of timeline and wouldn't even know. If you're up to it, I can leave that one up to GM's caveat.

The Crystal Palace/Panoptichron exists outside of time and space. Bennet can be recruited from literally any year from the beginning of time to the end of time.
