Cassandra Addams, AKA Skorpio, The Soldier

The result of her father's experiments with super soldier enhancers, Cassandra Addams is the hero known as Skorpio. With her metallic suit of armor and extendable scorpion tail, 17 year old Cassandra battles against the world's villains, all while working as an agent of SHIELD.

Another animal-themed hero with extensible generally useful prosthetics. I must ask, why in the world did Dr. Addams choose his daughter as the next subject for his experimental scorpion serum, after what happened to that madman Mac Gargan? Granted, it's hard to say if the serum really drove Gargan mad, since he was sort of like that before he had powers, but still, it's quite a risk to his own child. And then she'd be a super-person in a world where that's an incredibly dangerous burden to carry. What was he thinking?

Regarding the governmental oversight, how does your obligation to SHIELD affect your attitudes and responsibilities with the rest of the team, assuming we aren't all considered SHIELD super-agents? How does your being essentially a child affect how SHIELD itself treats you? Who is your SHIELD handler, and how often can we expect to deal with them? Who in SHIELD is your enemy, as per the second use of your Soldier label? Actually, how did SHIELD agree to let you join at such a young age? Most our age don't tend to be allowed to join so much as... I suppose "coerced" isn't exactly the worst way you could put it.

Also, what is it your tail does, anyway?

Her father wanted to perfect the serum after what happened with Mac. He chose to experiment on his daughter as he would be able to keep a much closer eye on her, and monitor her changes better. I imagine that they're a lot like a military family. Where she was raised knowing that she'd be fighting for her country. She spent a lot of time working out, and learning about the military as a kid. The new serum was also specifically made to match her DNA, so it currently only works on Cassandra herself.

Cassandra's volunteered to work with the young super-teams. She wants to help protect the city from threats, but SHIELD also has some ulterior motives. She's to help keep an ear to the ground in case the heroes are trying to do anything without SHIELD's knowledge. She's also there to be a friendly SHIELD face, and help keep relations between the two groups friendly. I figure that her dad has some sway within the organization and helped her get in at a young age. As per her handler or enemies within the organization I don't have anything coming to mind, so I'll leave that up to the GM. Whether or not he wants to use canon characters or not is his choice.

Her tail does a few things similar to the original Scorpion's. Firstly, it's made of metal and pretty durable. So she can smash, or batter people around with it. She has some augmentations so that she can control it with her mind, so she can perform more precise maneuvers like coiling someone up as well. It's also retractable for ease of movement. Lastly, she can shoot a corrosive acid-like substance out of the tip.

I like Skorpio!

Octopus raises some good questions that have been well-answered by Kylie.  It maybe that some fathers and SHIELD are a little more flawed (though still well-meaning) then we might like.  This is very Marvel.  And might add a little needed 'grit' to our bright and sunny opening tone.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. :-)

I'm putting together a spider-themed girl, Basaq.   I'm building a nemesis based on the Carmilla Black version of Scorpion, but I"m worried about whether this is too much or something that you can use as well.

I haven't given Carmilla Black's Scorpion (Hm,  Black Scorpion?) any details about power or abilities.  ALl I've got, at the moment is that her adopted parents were murdered and Basaq failed to save them.  Now Carmilla became Black Scorpion vowing vengeance on Basaq,... not even aware that she was one of her best friends.

Can you use Carmilla Black in any way?  Perhaps as an evil mirror of Kylie?

I'm sorry I took so long to get to you but Skorpio is welcomed to the game.  There is a lot of wonderful possibilities to explore with the character but we will get to them. You don't have to do anything for now. :-)

The player hasn't logged in for 10 days...  and I can't delete Basaq's post since  I changed characters.   But the idea of collaboration doesn't seem like it's workable without Skorpio's player at the table and as active as her potential collaborators.
