Here is the general chat.

Getting things going again. Working on characters now. Did a small update to the Game Mechanics for Monster Souls when you destroy them etc. Here was the change:

Monster Death

On the death of a monster it releases Essence relative to its Rank. If the souls is broken down then it will provide an additional amount of Essence and may release a number of Aspects and Natures up to the maximum they possess. The deity will get to choose the Aspect/Nature he receives from the soul itself but only a certain amount of them will be had. Those not chosen will return to Creation. Ranks in Animancy will allow you to choose additional Aspects/Natures that are available within the soul.

Note that Rank 0 souls do not give out Aspects/Natures. They are to weak and fragile that when destroyed the Aspects/Natures that were bound to them dissipate back into Creation.

So from now on, Rank 0 monsters do not give out Aspects/Natures (but may contain them) and you get to CHOOSE the Aspect/Nature you get from the monster soul from those it has BUT only upto a limit equal to the amount in the colomn based on its Rank + the Rank you have in Animancy (So Rank 3 in Animancy will give you access to 3 more Aspects/Natures to take out of a soul than the base amount allowed)

Note that I will not "hide" the Gods that were already "found" in the campaign originally in the Gods & Entities of Creation thread.

While the campaign has been modified in terms of certain aspects of it the greater "goal" of the campaign remains untouched as nothing was found on that end yet. Some of the side treks that were currently being used by some of the gods will be either modified or removed depending on how deep the gods went along with that side trek.

I love the choice of aspect/nature's being tied to Animancy. I'll have to reread all the rules and send back Arashi in a pm when I get a lil time off. My apologies for not having done it over the holidays when I had some time, o Overlord.

No problem. Yeah one of my issues was that combat is part of the fun of the campaign for many but you have to limit it as a GM or have gods with thousand's of aspect/natures. Fix that part with certain rules but then have the randomness come in which either becomes not random to please the player or random and then have player think your being a dick.

So this way everyone is happy and balance is restored :) hehehe

Tbh I never really considered the random nature/aspect a dickish thing. I always thought of it as our system's loot table a lil, never were quite sure what you'd get. So you couldn't really plan for it entirely but man were there some shinies to oogle at.

I know Ezekiel was chalk full of aspects and started handing them out like candy to his chosen and started making all kinds of items. Just part of the fun!

However, now I definitely gotta put time in leveling those divine skills!

Yeah they are fun. I was just to "spendy" with Malum on my souls that I never had enough to give out (Malum was a greedy bastard who always lost all his toys)

BTW: Just a heads up that DEVELOPMENT RANK - FAITH will give a bonus to FAITH gained for the various races and how the FAITH is integrated into their society (so higher the rank, more of a bonus you get)

I reworked the FAITH spreadsheet so that it will calculate faith based on percentage of faithful on a realm.

BTW: The Nexus, which was in the last game a NON-CONTENDER for faith gain will now allow faith gain into it. This is to add to the "slight change" i have set up in the grand story making the Nexus somewhat more of a contender to establish ones faith in. It will also play up the "Faith Wars" aspect of the game and why the Pantheon was formed.

I will be showing all the realms and the various deities on each. It will show their FAITH percentage for races and amount of faith they gain from it etc. This will give you an idea of how spread out certain deiites are. While I had set it up originally I had kept it in private notes. Figured may as well put it out on the spreadsheets and let the whole thing develop from there.

So setting up your faith in a realm where other gods are present will take away from their faithful and so, in some cases, you may expect "someone will come knockin'"

Small update to rules:

Incarnations:

Basically there are two types of Incarnations: Known and Unknown.

Known Incarnations are those you have learnt through level advancement. Cost to manifest is 100 Essence + 100 Essence for every increment above first.

Unknown Incarnations are your trying to manifest it without having learnt it through level advancement. These are less controlled and cost 250 Essence as a base + 250 Essence for every increment above the first.

Incarnations are basically the manifestation of your domain on a grander scale than your Major Powers but not as grand as your Arch Power would be. When untrained they wil manifest following rules based on the Major Powers while when trained they will be more powerful than this.

It is correlated with Domain Mastery for how powerful the effect will be and then boosted by Essence Incrementation.

This way it is straight out there with skills being the driving factor

Note that I am removing the Thread in the ESSENE & FAITH thread tat described each god and their faith etc. Most did not keep it upto date and it is a lot more overhead for me to handle so I'll be focusing on armoury to be kept upto date (you'll see as I put your armouries up that the DEVELOPMENT part has been updated with your CHOSEN RACE info and will have future races that follow you as well in that area. As each "province" will have its own development ranks to a degree these will be maintained individually here.

So just a note to ease things for combat situations:

You all get 3 Action points per round and you can decide how to use those actions. Note that in th past I used DODGE automatically and Block was added ion for flare.

Since Block has been worked up to be effective in certain situations, and with the expansion on Parrying, I made both of these a skill use soa 1 point Action which means you must specify if your doing this in combat. If you don't, Dodge will be the action used to avoid harm.

Note that what is the difference between DODGE, BLOCk and PARRYING:

Dodge: Used to avoid a hit. This is normally in the defensive aspect of the round where it helps to decide if the enemy hits you or not. Dodge is used by all when it comes to avoid ranged targetting.

Block: In this instance your looking to block the blow, not dodge it. So it is trying to absorb part of the blow using your strength (rather than dodging it). Effe3cts are the same  than dodge in combat roles but is more for characters based on STENGTH vs FINESSE.

Parrying: Parrying looks to deflect the blow. If successful (meaning target does not strike you as you parried their blow) you gain a Bonus equal to PARRYING SKILL on your next strike due to their guard being open.

Alrighty so three gods done, 3 to go and one that remains to send me the info to make his deity.

I have updated the SPREADSHEET for the ESSENCE, FAITH and REALMS. There you can see ALL the realms available EXCEPT the Secret Realms (those remain off the books until they have been found by someone. There are a few so... enjoy)

Just to make matters clear:

Powers can be used in combat etc but one cannot stack a power one on top of another on the same being. (ex: Can'T use a minor power to boost Def Threshold +3 3 times to get +9 on yourself)

Also, you cannot use the same power twice in a round. So if you use Minor Power 1 in round 1 you can't use it again until Round 2.

While this was never an issue just wanted to make it clear :)

Alrighty.

So Veks is the only one left to send me his deity. He will be entered within the campaign when he finds the time to do so.

For the rest of you: We are set to go. Only Talramirez is left to send me some info for his Chosen and we can start going.

I will be waiting for everyone to send me the "New PM Thread" that I requested. Once that is done we will get going with the campaign.

Start off threads for your realms will look the same as the last one (as the campaign start and the reasons for it are still part of the campaign) but some of you (not all) have a slight "change" to the into message based on your god creation. It changes nothing to for the beginning of the campaign but will be used in future dealings, should it occur, with Ericles.

I will BUMP all start up threads once game starts.

Notes for this Campaign (vs last one):

- Divine Rank gain is based on actions and not province control. While province control may cause a rank increase it is more a matter of goals or quests or something being achieved rather than simple province gain.
- Gloves are off for this campaign for the newbies :). You're not newbies anymore so enjoy the campaign without the training wheels on. This means your decisions are NOT "changed" once an update by myself has been made. Live by your decisions.
- Your Chosen will respond to you based on your interactions with them. Unlike last campaign for the newbies, don't expect them to love you just because you're you.

Besides that: Enjoy!

Well, I'm both glad and scared in the fact that I made a character who cares much less about the consequences of her actions, and is much, much less lovable for it, though there is something to be said about her chosen being just as corrupted and greedy as she is, for her status among them.
