Please note that I changed slightly the campaign calendar link to a message in this game so that you can start the campaign on the Spring Equinox, instead of during the cold Winter. Eventually, we'll go through all the weeks of the year, but better starting in Spring :)

No, in AFF in general you are not required to carry a spellbook with you. Moreover, if you want to be a Sorcerer you are forbidden to carry a spellbook! You will have to know by memory all the sorcery spells :)
