Some of you may have heard this before...
I started this board when I first joined RPoL because, at that time, there were far more players that wanted to play Pathfinder than there were games going on. This board was meant as a holding pattern for those players until they found a game. Not sure how many Pathfinder games are still going on or how many players still want to play Pathfinder, but I've noticed a lot more other games and game systems going on now. I've even tried running a few of them.
So, two years ago, I was running about 20 games on RPoL, plus a few of those games had multiple groups, this board being the primary one, with 3-4 adventures going at any one time. I think most of those games went pretty well.
Then, just about 2 years ago, I went to the emergency room one Sunday night at the end of January and wound up have gall bladder surgery two days later. After a week in the hospital recovering, I finally got discharged the following Sunday just in time to catch the Superbowl that year.
Apparently, I've been recovering ever since. In the last month or two (maybe more; who's counting), I've been having trouble sleeping. Didn't seem to matter when I went to bed or how tired I was, I either couldn't get to sleep or woke up after only a few hours and then couldn't get back to sleep. What that meant was that I tended to be tired all day long.
By noon, I'd have some energy and could do some posting. But, if there were chores to be done or errands to be run or projects to be worked on (still trying to fix the backyard fence after Hurricane Irma took out several sections, for instance), then that wiped out most of my posting opportunities. By evening, I was too tired to post.
Oddly and perhaps sadly, when I'm tired, my creativity is what suffers. Simply posts I can managed, but if answering someone else's post requires creativity on my part, there's just no mental energy there to do that. And that's what's happened in most of these games. It's like I paint myself into a corner--character's open the door to a room... and I have no clue what's in the room. Even coming up with 'a table and a chair' is... inadequate, at least, but sometime just impossible.
So, anyway... what does this all mean? Well, it may mean that I've finally turned a corner. It seems as if I'm starting to be creative again.
A new player wants to join. And that being said, I got it into my head that maybe, rather than try to shoehorn him into one of the stalled adventures
still going on(?), I could/should just start a new one.
That, in turn, led to me thinking that it might be a good opportunity to open it to any players that have still hung around in the other games or that check the board when a post goes up.
The new adventure will be (ta-da!):
The Adventure of the Crimson Tower
I should be able to get it set up later today. If any one is still around and would like to have me wrap up their current adventure, just say so, and I'll give it a try. This does not apply to Down the Rabbit Hole--I think we're still going on that one.
