the one Jednesa is holding tries to stab under her fingernail (chinks in armor)but misses the mark as they are struck with a spear!

the dragonmen and gnolls mix it up, at the cost of a gnoll and three dragonmen.

the sky rains fire on the new grouping of gnolls

the dragonmen are forming a tortoise with their shields, and are preparing to advance on the southern formation on the gnolls. the gnolls to the north are moving out of the cloud, easteard towards Jednesa's left flank

about 9 gnolls plus the elites are to the east of Jednesa

Christine will allow the rain of fire to end while recasting in in a new location to once again maximise any inconvenience to the hostile creatures while staying in the cover of the smoke.

Jednesa keeps charging forward towards the gnolls she was already running at, still holding aloft the poor slinger as cover...

OOC:  All Out Attack (Strong) Slam, Move 6.  Let me know if she runs into any gnolls, or if you need any other rolls, like for running with a gnoll in front of her face.

meanwhile 4 gnolls fireat Jednesa,  and 3 hit, some doing considerable damage, but not quite Penetrating her hide.

the remaining 5 batch of gnolls are aiming , although one is reloading,  and the 5 armored gnolls are preparing some kind of attack.

the smoke is about a 3yard radius. she would need full move to get in and out, and at full move, could not dodge. to take a turn to get right before the edge and then a step plus retreating dodge would work.

"Behind you, Jednesa!"  The elder sister adjusts course slightly to move toward Jednesa's rear.

That sounds like a 3e think. Pretty sure dodge is the only defence allowed with a full .over maneuver.

Christine will have to move to where she can see, but still have some cover.

OOC:  Correctish.  Move Maneuver doesn't penalize any defenses, all Defenses are allowed.  Nothing ever stops you from Dodging† except All-Out Attack and Slam (and any version of "full body attacks", like Flying Tackle, Drop Kick, basically any "jumping or flying" attack, etc), though Committed Attack, Posture, being grappled, Stunned, and few other things can penalize Dodge.

Because Dodge underwent some philosophical changes between 3e and 4e, mostly to further justifying 'dodging bullets' which is unrealistic.

Concentrate (to allow for "evaluating" the fire) however penalizes Move... so you cannot Move and Concentrate.  You'll have to Move now, evaluate next.

† Important caveat that affects being in cover:  If they have a hard time seeing you, you have a hard time seeing incoming attacks, you might get hit with attacks you cannot see, and then you can't Dodge.

Masugatan also moves to guard Jednesa’s rear while encouraging Val to do the same.  He attacks the closest gnoll that is trying to sneak up on the valiant she-ogre.

Masugatan 's blade cuts into the gnoll's ribs, as well as the strap on their shield, which drops to thr ground along with the axe they were carrying!


so: 3 second maneuver: get to the edge of the smoke cloud, evaluate,  duck back, losing the concentrate/evaluate if having to duck.
