Gareth falls, cursing loudly at the stupidity of whoever hit him from behind. He will continue to scramble away from the reavers.

What are his options?

Re: The Black Tower

Haveron grunted as he moved from a prone position, feeling the tightness in his side and a shock of pain run through him. Glancing down, he saw the wound in his midsection and let out a loud curse that was not quite right in police society.

"Gods be damned, that's probably the worst I've taken..." he said to nobody in particular, mostly to himself. The shield on his back made his movement tricky, but eventually he managed to roll onto his knees and using his sword as a crutch began to lift himself back to standing. Each movement proved to be troublesome, he knew some muscles had been cut in his own lost movement, but also that he'd need a lot of rest before they'd fully recover. Luckily, he could take the burning pains with no more than gritted teeth

"Well, that was embarassing..." he said to the room. His ego was hit more than his body, he didn't recall the last time he'd lost a swordfight...

OOC: If I missed anything in the intermediate time between him taking down the reaver and getting hit pretty hard, please let me know and I'll adjust the post.

Gareth is prone, he can rise to his knees in one round. he can feel the edge of the landing in front of him, and knows there are reavers to either side. o e swings at his torso for 10 pts cutting, and he feels something ripping at his mind- make a will roll!

Safwan must make a will roll, and has one swing at him for 2 points cutting

In reply to Narrator (msg # 944):

Gareth is good at dodging enemies...it is his so called friends he is worried about...he dodges out of the way of the attack, hopefully, trying to get away from the reavers, getting to his knees first.

"You f#*king idiot! Get me the f#*K out of here, since you were so smart as to push me to the ground in front of our enemies!"

[Private to GM: Dodge penalty lying down -3, he rolled 4 under dodge! Rolled 7 under will... priority is to avoid being hit first, and get up second.]

Safwan's mind overcomes the onslaught. Are the 2 points absorbed by Safwan's tough skin?

Have at you, then! This one attempts an all-out attack to the face of the one that hit Safwan (moving up as needed). Roll in log. 7 pts to the face! (not sure how many HP they have, but knockdown roll is at HT-5, or -2 if they have High Pain Threshold).

that was 2 points before DR, so no damage...

the (now stunned) reaver, being skinny, is knocked back...

Re: The Black Tower

Haveron had still not gained his full wits and was reassessing the situation, but instead felt automated by Gareth's cursing and shouting. He moved towards, and then felt the fire

"I'm bloody coming you fire mad bastard!" he called out, grunting with the effort of overcoming his previous injuries.

OOC:

Ah bloody hell, li guess i missed the details of that! shame, because that damage would have been actually brutal.

Re: The Black Tower

Looking around when his eyes came into focus he inwardly sighed. Fire in a closed space... always a good thing.

"Right you..." he pointed at the huge cleric and said "Point which way!. He was sure that there was only one way to go, but his head was still somewhat fuzzy and so he followed closely to the others.

Seeing everyone had followed what was to have been a covering action, Gareth, who got to his knees before being hit, gets to his feet, no longer maintaining the fire.

Can he cast a spell without gestures as he stands, changing posture?

Gareth: GM should weigh in, but I think it's one or the other; GURPS is based on one-second actions unlike D&D, which uses 6-second rounds for some reason...

Safwan shouts to the retreating reaver, "Doest thou still lay claim <grunt> to Safwan's residence?"

Berry fires a bolt at the nearest Reaver, hoping it does some damage. She really should have studied the exact properties of the bolt more.

00:05, Today: Berry rolled 2 using 1d6-2.  mystic bolt damage.

Well, damage not-withstanding, he is getting to his feet. If he can, he will cast a spell. If not, he will have to wait.

[Private to GM: If he can cast, he rolled 14 under skill to cast the spell. His next dodge, where he should be on his feet at least, was equal to his dodge, so made it.]

In reply to Gareth (msg # 955):

you need to stand up, unless your spell is known at 20 or better, but that leaves yoi on your knees concentrating.

spells require the concentrate maneuver.

occ Shroud is a thief traveling with the party, been with you for months, still don't have a clear idea of how he looks...
