Re: Riddle Me This XIV

Very, very close. I'll give it to you.

The answer is "spark"

Yes, you got it that flint and steel, and if you don't feed the spark, it will wink out of existence in a moment.

I have a neck,
But head have I not;
My lifeblood drunk,
Not by vampires
But by sots.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

See I was thinking it was beer specifically because it doesn't have a head, which is what happens if you pour beer into a cup. I guess it was just to say it wasn't a living thing.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

That makes sense. I was just being poetic--a neck but no head is like a clock has a face and hands but no head.

I've seen you where you never was
And where you ne'er will be;
And yet you in that very same place
May still be seen by me.

In the history of the world,
I have never been;
Yet all believe I will come,
Even wise men;
But they know also,
I will not be,
Even then.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

That answer actually fits perfectly, and is essentially the same as the actual answer. The actual answer is "tomorrow." I may have to refine this one.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

I keep pillaging that classic adventure with plenty of riddles:

We are little Brethren twain,
Arbiters of Loss and Gain.
Many to our Counters run,
Some are made, and some are undone.
But, as Men find to their Cost,
Few are made, but Numbers lost
Though we play them Tricks forever,
Yet they always want our Favour.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

This is a riddle by Jonathan Swift--a good one for gamers to know. Since I know the answer, I won't roll for initiative. My die is cast.

Re: Riddle Me This XIV

Five little beasts there are;
One lives in every star;
One lives at noon,
And can be seen in the moon,
Another lives in fear,
And yet another in a pier;
And the last in every clue
Can never escape you.
