TMNT

Turtles don't grow into giant monsters

Rangers don't call their giant robot unless the enemy goes giant

Rangers' fight skills < Turtles

Re: Who Would Win III -- Voltron or Transformers

Transformers -

Five Lion-car-spaceship-robot thingies that need to be piloted by humans that require reaction times between their thoughts and their actions

Vs.

Hundreds of Construction-dinosaur-car-plane-helecopter-spacestation-semitruck-boombox-robot thingies that are self aware and have vertually no time delay between their thoughts and actions...

no contest.

Gandalf versus Dumbledore

New fight:

Gandalf versus Dumbledore

Personally I think Dumbledore could trump Gandalf the Grey but not Gandalf the White.

Note: Spellcheck doesn't see Gandalf as a word, but it thinks Dumbledore is a word.

It sounds like you have a hip young Spellchecker there.  I bet if you typed in Lestat, it would be "corrected" to Jacob.

Oh, and I think Gandalf would win ever day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Re: Gandalf versus Dumbledore

Gandalf is much cooler than Dumbledore, but Dumbledore has proven that he was the most powerful wizard in a world of wizards as opposed to Gandalf proving he was the second greatest wizard among a council of wizards.

Re: Gandalf versus Dumbledore

Gandalf: has a few tricks up his sleeve but is more of a pacifist and need a good reason to fight. he is also an immortal.  demi-godly in a way. can be killed if caught off guard.

Dumbledore: has many different spells in repertoire, can make new ones pending on timely warning and circumstances. has died already. not shy from fighting. lived a long life.

Re: Gandalf versus Dumbledore

LotR is better than Harry Potter from a critical standpoint but Harry Potter is much easier to read and assessable at many levels which is why it is so popular.

I was just giving some background but I think Gandalf vs Dumbledore would be interpreted to many people as LotR vs Harry Potter.

Star Trek vs Star Wars

It really depends on the specifics.  The OT of SW beats most of what Trek has to offer but I know some of Trek is better than the OT but not much.

Re: Star Trek vs Star Wars

Trek has the Borg. SW does not currently have many Jedi or Sith, and no one works together for very long in SW because they are split between Dark and Light.

Maybe not many Jedi in the movies, but in the expanded universe's Legacy era, the Jedi Order had been completely rebuilt.

Star Wars has the Death Star(or had).  Star Trek has the Borg.  Yet can Borg shields really modulate against anything but phasers?  The Death Star uses a laser.

Re: Star Trek vs Star Wars

Well which Death Star model.  The one from VI was never finished and was supposed to be unstoppable but the one from IV can be stopped with just a lucky missile shot.
