Question Game XII

The object of this game is very simple. All you have to do is answer the question from the last post and then ask a new question.

For instance, if the most recent post asked, "What's for supper?"

You might answer "I'm probably having a hamburger with some chips and strawberries."

Then you must ask a new question so the next person can answer it.

"What's your favorite animal?"

Lure Jonny and Jessi into a trap and have a section of the floor give way to a huge deep frier and hope he'll trigger it when he comes to rescue them. Though to be realistic, it probably won't work cause he never dies in any episode. That'd just be a real bummer.

Because death is a natural course of our existence. So before long people would be dying on the moon, and that would just sound horrible. I mean, how many people have died on the moon so far? None, so nobody wants to be the first. So we might as well just not live there at all. Simpler that way.

If by 'just' you mean a month ago... :p

I collect quarters. It's my prize collection too. I have one quarter of every one minted from 1964 to present, with the exception of the newest territories which I haven't bothered with yet. 1964 was the last year they made silver quarters, so that's a nice one to have. I also have a 1960 and 1945 silver quarters. All 3 of my silver quarters I got quite by surprise at various stores where people pay with it or give it as change without even realizing. Days like that make me very happy to benefit from other people's ignorance. :p

Absolutely.  Have you ever tried to roll a game disc?  It only comes up 1s or 2s.  (You roll agai and fail to hit him.  He rolls and fails to hit you.  You roll again and your sword breaks...)

After so many epic fails, one gets discouraged.  And if you use the software, it's even worse.  (1s and 0s.  Ouch!)

Re: Question Game XII

A certain degree of perplexity.  It is after all a simple consequence of the reflection of light waves of an object that the mind then processes as 'yellow', but it is something that is entirely experiential in character.  It is not something that can be explained to the uninitiated; just as it is difficult to explain sarcasm to a deaf man.  This is all true, just as the existence of the color yellow can produce positive emotional states in others, a facet of the color of much interest to some researchers.  Yet, it's yellow's allusions I recall, I really don't know yellow, at all.

We are all prisoners of our experience, what form is yours?

Re: Question Game XII

The object of this game is very simple. All you have to do is answer the question from the last post and then ask a new question.

For instance, if the most recent post asked, "What's for supper?"

You might answer "I'm probably having a hamburger with some chips and strawberries."

Then you must ask a new question so the next person can answer it.

"What's your favorite animal?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nope

Yes and no...Underdog gets his powers from a super energy pill that he keeps in his ring. So yes he can get superpowers but no they are not permanent.

Svedish

Long question time:

A time ago I had my dungeons and dragons group fighting a lich/necromancer and they decided to drink some of his potions despite not knowing what they would do. There was a green one that smelled of mint but tasted of lime, a red one that tasted of burning, a clear one that had no scent or taste and a black sludgey one that smelld and tasted of rotting flesh. What effects do you think these potions should have on my players characters?

Re: Question Game XII

In actuality I do believe there was a discussion about it not mattering if I the Royal Recorder could recognize it as a claim, as I determined it more appropriate to have a story than to have it be recognizable so the thread could still be considered a game as it was originally, I do believe my claim still valid.  The only rule, even in the first page of the thread merely states make it clear.  Asking for the crown I do believe was plenty clear, there is no written statement in that thread that "royalty claim" must be said, though it clearly appears an unspoken rule I have only just recently picked up on, and clearly have a bitter turn to not being allowed my story :p

Do you think perhaps the first page should be edited to contain this requirement, or should the requirement be laxed, so story can be pursued?

Re: Question Game XII

While giving up is not a valid option in most minds, ignoring it is not either, there are many ways to repair the world, it just takes more than a government to do so.  Making the car issue less of an issue is just one aspect that could reduce the likelihood of our atmosphere dissolving.  planting a few trees down the center of a road is only really making enough air to benefit maybe 100 people, ripping down an old unused building and replacing it with an all tree park would be more efficient long term.  Making it illegal to plant your own vegetable, or fruit garden was moronic, and should be rescinded.  Further more land that is not being used should not be illegal to use, thus allowing further plant life to fester there.   Many other options are available to us, but in a land where walking, even standing can be seen as illegal there is not much hope.

Happier topic...   When was the last time it rained there?

Because greed fuels the world, the commercials no longer pay for the shows as well as they used to as shows cost more as people want more, and then of course the companies demand at least 60% profit no matter what.  Thus it costs thousands upon thousands just to run a days worth of television.  Quite honestly it'd be cheaper to browse hulu+ and Netflix.

Re: Question Game XII

I have always enjoyed Murphy Brown.  I wouldn't call her a hero, (though she was the main protagonist in her D.C. based television show.)

How would you define an anti-hero?  Is it just a villain with a positive bias?  Or a jerk hero? Or something else?

Re: Question Game XII

I've always gone with an anti-hero is someone who does the wrongs things for the right reasons.

For example - one member of a certain organisation is plotting to destroy the world. An Anti-Hero will turn and wipe out the entire organisation, rather then a hero who would try and isolate and stop just the one person causing the problem.

How else would an Anti-Hero be defined?

Re: Question Game XII

I thought that an anti-hero does the right things for the wrong reasons.

For example:  A villain has tied a (potential) victim to a railroad track.

A hero would rescue the victim to save his or her life.  It's the right thing to do.
"I'll save you!"

Knowing that a death on the tracks would cause the station and the train line to shut down for several hours, an anti-hero would rescue the victim to avoid that mess.  The anti-hero has places to go.

Checks his watch before looking around and sees the oncoming train. "Crap, there goes my reservations at Saison for tonight."  Looks around again, no hero. *sigh* "Fine, I'll save him."

Moral and motivational differences aside, the results are the same.  Victim saved and trains still running on time.

I would say that TTRPGs have undergone a change of what is played rather than how it is played. Honestly, the camaraderie I have experienced throughout my own RPs haven't diminished as much as the games that I used to play. So, I guess it really boils down to that.

I would go with preference as expectation denotes a certain sense of fatalism that is not conducive for the mental well-being of a simple koala such as myself.

Re: Question Game XII

I like them both for different reasons. A book is an ongoing experience that you can continue anywhere really, and the different writing styles can change how you view the story and the characters within it, something a movie can't really do without narration or internal monologue. And movies can passively show you a story without you having to put in the effort to read it or imagine the story in your head, and make it a more sensory experience with amazing visuals and sounds. Different stories work better in different forms as well and I'd be missing out if I only engaged in one form.

Did you expect a response that detailed?
