Meet The Story Goal II

This game is played by each person adding one sentence to the story in effort to meet the goal preset at the beginning of the story.  If it is your turn to post, and the last sentence is not to your liking, you may change any one word in the last sentence (but not the character(s) involved in the sentence) before you add the next sentence.

I.E.  (last sentence) Sam pinched Lola on the butt.
(Your change) Sam pinched kicked Lola on the butt.
(Your sentence) Lola liked to be abused, so she kissed Sam.

There will be four main characters in this story.  The first four posts will pick our character names (one at a time) and give them a one sentence description.

The fifth person to post will decide the goal of the story.  For instance, Sam has to fall in love with Lola.  Lola has to leave town.  Could be something else similar.  Try to make it reasonable.

(First reply should make the first character.  Always quote the post before you and then add on to it.)

Corrected.  Unless we want to wait and spam this for royalty until a 4th person posts, I think "first four posts" is better than "first four people to post".

That makes sense. But then, still, since you chose the fourth character, you should have to wait for someone else to post the object of the story, right?

Knowing how she feels, he hangs his head, "You don't know how much I don't want to go... but how much I do at the same time... I'm so sorry".

"No, No. Don't be," she said trying to wipe tears from her eyes. "It's for the better, even if I don't want it to be so."

"I'll still call every day, and come home for Christmas and summer", Said Fred trying to comfort Rachel, but realizing that he wasn't helping, they just said their good byes, and he left.

Re: Meet The Story Goal II

  1. Fred is an average jock(not a star player or anything) who just graduated high school and is still confused about who he is.

  2. Rachel is an intense girl who speaks plainly about how she feels.

  3. Mary is Rachel's overprotective mother.

  4. Bubba Joe is a high school dropout who works stocking shelves down at the local Quicky Mart and has dreams of someday "graduating" from there and working at his dream job -- checker at the local Walmart.

Rachel is sad when Fred gets a scholarship to a collage across the country, but when Fred finds out that Rachel is thinking about going out with Bubba Joe after he leaves, he decides to win her heart back.  All the while Rachel has to keep all these relationships behind her mothers back, but her mother is smart.

Fred is siting in his car, still dressed in his graduation gown, thinking about his future when Rachel knocks on the window.  "I still can't believe we made it," she exclaims as she enters through the passenger's side door.

"Same here," Fred replied.

"Is something wrong Fred", Rachel says, hearing a weariness in his voice.

"No, things are great.  I'm just glad I never have to take math again."

"Well what's that tear doing in your eye?" She replied, a little put out at his blunt reply.

"Ummm....  Well...." Fred says, with a hesitation, and then continues, "I wasn't expecting to get a scolarship, but I was hoping to get one for a college nearby", and then he stopped and looked down at the ground.

"What do you mean, Did you not get into college?" Asks Rachel as she wipes the tear from his eye.

Fred takes a large gulp and then continues, "I got on... on the other coast... and I think... I'm... gonna... take it", and then waits to here how Rachel takes the news.

She stands there in shock, watching him walk away. Possibly for the last time before Christmas... Nearly three months away.

Fred takes a large gulp and then continues, "I got one... on the other coast... and I think... I'm... gonna... take it", and then waits to here how Rachel takes the news.

For a few moments as he was explaining, she looked fine. Then about halfway through she herself started to tear up.

She stands there in shock, watching him drive away. Possibly for the last time before Christmas... Nearly three months away.

She then goes and sits over in a dark corner, hoping to not be seen, but Bubba Joe sees her as he is walking home and stops, worrying if something is wrong.

He asks, "Hey, is something wrong?"

She looks up and whipes her tears when she sees him.  "Nothing," she says, "I just can't believe he's going to leave me."

Suddenly her cell phone rings.  "Oh no, it's Mom!"

Bubba looked at her quizzically.  "Uh, okay," he mumbled before walking away.  Rachel hardly paid Bubba any attention as she answered the phone.

"Helly, dearest, tis I, your overly flamboyant madré, calling to let you know that dinner is almost ready.  Surely you will return in time to partake of this bounteous repast that shall shortly be laid out?"

"Oh, mom, please."

"Your not going to out with some boy now are you?", says Mary, nosing in once again.

"Mom!" she said loudly catching her mother off guard

Re: Meet The Story Goal II

The Cast:
Fred is an average jock(not a star player or anything) who just graduated high school and is still confused about who he is.

Rachel is an intense girl who speaks plainly about how she feels.

Mary is Rachel's overprotective mother.

Bubba Joe is a high school dropout who works stocking shelves down at the local Quicky Mart and has dreams of someday "graduating" from there and working at his dream job -- checker at the local Walmart.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Goal:
Rachel is sad when Fred gets a scholarship to a collage across the country, but when Fred finds out that Rachel is thinking about going out with Bubba Joe after he leaves, he decides to win her heart back.  All the while Rachel has to keep all these relationships behind her mothers back, but her mother is smart.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I removed these two lines since they forced Rachel to be in two places at once.  Rachel is at school, not at home.  She was on the phone with her mother, not talking in person.

Fred takes a large gulp and then continues, "I got one... on the other coast... and I think... I'm... gonna... take it", and then waits to here how Rachel takes the news.

For a few moments as he was explaining, she looked fine. Then about halfway through she herself started to tear up.

"You're not going to out with some boy now are you?", says Mary, nosing in once again.

"Mom!" she said loudly catching her mother off guard.

Sensing her mother's surprise, Rachel seizes her opportunity, "I'm not out with some boy, I'm out with a dear friend."

"Oh I see," said her mother, obviously not quite buying it. "And this dear friend wouldn't by any chance wish to join us for dinner would he?"

"He has to go, actually.  I'll be home in a bit."  Rachel hung up the phone quickly before her mother could reply.

Sighing loudly, Rachel began the long walk home for dinner.

Just then, thunder rolls in the distance and the sky begins to darken leaving Rachel to wonder if she can make it home before the storm hits.

She hardly makes it two blocks before the skies open.

Running from the rain, she tripped.  "Ow, ow, ow," she muttered repeatedly, sitting on the cold, wet pavement to examine her scraped knee.

It was bleeding.  Alot.  She tried to blot the blood away with the hem of her skirt, but the water kept washing it away, making the wound fresh.  It would scab over eventually, so she carried on.

Finally, a car pulls up beside her.

Bubba climbs out of his car holding a long jacket which he gently places over Rachel's shoulders then scoops her into his arms and carries her to his warm vehicle.

Bubba is a character in the story.  AND, I DID add to the story.  Now it's someone else's turn.

Re: Meet The Story Goal II

Fred takes a large gulp and then continues, "I got one... on the other coast... and I think... I'm... gonna... take it", and then waits to here how Rachel takes the news.

For a few moments as he was explaining, she looked fine. Then about halfway through she herself started to tear up.

"Hush now.. Just breathe and relax.." said the voice as she drifted off to sleep.

Waking up, Rachel found she was bound and gagged, but still in the car, which was now in some forest.

She tried to move but her binds were too tight and all she could do was scream, but it was muffled.

She was persistent, and her struggling caused her wrists to get bloody from the ropes.

Suddenly, Bubba appears from out of no where and smiles a frightening smile at Rachel and begins to speak.

"She is waiting for you."

With that, he grabbed Rachel and moved her from the vehicle and begins to walk her into the forest.

The pine needles were sharp enough to cut through her shoes.

As they entered a clearing Rachel's eyes widened.  It was ... her mother.

Who happened to be cut into tiny pieces, and then strewn about a field.

A gasp erupted from somewhere in the trees.

Bubba turned toward the gasp, a crazed look in his eyes.

Re: Meet The Story Goal II

Sighing loudly, Rachel began the long walk home for dinner.

Just then, thunder rolls in the distance and the sky begins to darken leaving Rachel to wonder if she can make it home before the storm hits.

She hardly makes it two blocks before the skies open.

Rachel climbs into Bubba's car, waiting as he runs through the rain and gets in the drivers side.

He puts the car in drive and begins to head home, but takes a turn that Rachel realizes won't head toward home.

jioan, you're supposed to introduce four main characters for the story first, then an overarching goal.

2. Greg Lawless is a bad cop who never plays by the rules, even in Monopoly.

Dude, Soulvirus, it's really not a good idea to argue with a GM about something like that.
Here's a little clip I stole from George of the Jungle a long while ago that illustrates exactly what might happen if you were to continue down that path:

Anyway...
1. Randy is a giant mouse who does not fit into the shoes everyone wants him to fit, or his skyscraper for that matter.
2. Greg Lawless is a bad cop who never plays by the rules, even in Monopoly.
3. Sam is a spoiled robot child who gets whatever he wants, except world domination.
4. Joe is a corpulent young chemist with connections to the mafia.

The goal is to have Greg attempt to exploit Randy only to have Sam accidentally get in the way while Joe makes a bad situation worse, then to have Randy manage t0 escape and live a happy peaceful life.

Re: Meet The Story Goal II

*I suggest to make this easier that next time we only use 2 characters instead of 4

GOAL: The goal is to have Greg attempt to exploit Randy, only to have Sam accidentally get in the way while Joe makes a bad situation worse, and then to have Randy manage to escape and live a happy, peaceful life.

Greg shoves a contract into one of Randy's paws and a pen into the other.  "Quick sign this!"

But Joe walked up and accidentally spilled acid on the contract.

Randy quickly runs away out a door and into the wilderness where he is safe for the rest of his long and healthy life.

Why is this thread still alive?  No posts in over a year!  Since I'm no longer the active GM, I'll let it be, but generally the policy was to kill off games that people don't use.
