AFAIK they were hidden until now. I didn't see 2.4 earlier.

[Chapter 2.2] The Jetsom Away Team

Harry is thinking of some other game...

I made them visible Monday I think.

Also, please be patient for a few days.  I have developed a kidney stone that is knocking me down.  The pain med is strong and so thinking is muddled.  I dont want to post under that condition, nor think that much.

I will move this thing along as soon as this damnn thing passes.

Ouch. I've thankfully never experienced a kidney stone, but I've heard horror stories from those that have.

I have never had kidney stone, but I have been told they are very painful. I pray that it passes quickly.

I too will be less available.  We will be traveling over the weekend and half of next week.

one has to recover your kidney stone indeed, but for its composition to be analyzed in a lab, in order to know what created it (too much calcium or whatever).

Dawn: We're coming from the D1/C1 door (upper left). The security door is open and leads to the damaged shuttle. We want to get through the D1/E1 door.

Umm, which way is Harry going? (For that matter, did I get Dawn's post right?) The security door to the shuttle and the hallway to engineering are in different directions but Harry appears to be trying to run down both.

I'm sorry, I guess I got twisted, I'm heading for the shuttle. I haven't looked at the map to be honest, my bad. It confused me a bit.

[Chapter 2.2] The Jetsom Away Team

F Y I

So... the basic "chill suits" that were given to the characters do not have any RAD protection.  The whole platform is currently experiencing a 1 RAD/Hour exposure.  This accumulation will not be felt as damage unless it gets to over 50 RADs accumulated short term.  Then immediate damage will begin to occur. Upon Khuevaengh opening the hatchway door, it jumped to 2 RAD/hour, as seen on the visor HUD displays of Adriannah, Dawn, and Khuevaengh's vac-suits.

Adriannah, Dawn, and Khuevaengh are fully protected for now.  The others are accumulating RADs that will never go away.

I'm having a difficult time imagining the scene. If Khue has opened a door behind which the reactor is pouring out RADs, how are those closest to the door getting fewer RADs than the rest of us??

Even with the map I just can't figure out the positions of all of us.

Everyone except Khuevaengh (and whoever else goes with him) is in the foyer. Khuevaengh is just on the other side of the D1/E1 hatch. The damaged shuttle is in the docking bay, which is on the far side of the security door.

In reply to Harry McStubbins (msg # 832):

Me 3...
Is the foyer D1 on the map?

Did we not arrive in section A and walk to section D then came through D1/D2? I say this because, per the map, the turret is only covering the security door D1/D2 and we were worried about the turret shooting at us.

Which shuttle is being dismantled?  It's a 2nd shuttle that is in section D, correct?

If so, which direction is the shuttle that is being dismantled?  D1/C1?

I am assuming D1/E1 is towards engineering and the source of radiation.

----
Update:  I now see the shuttle is on the other side of D1/D2.
So why was there so much time spent worrying about the turret when it was only targeting a door we were not using?  The firing arc only covered D1/D2. Our entrance is outside the firing arc.  As a result we were not in danger.

The fuel line in the damaged corridor can be repaired with a length of piping, flex or rigid.

So, options....

1. Tear up the floor of the corridor and remove a section of pipe. (Not recommended without consideration of emptying pipes). A permanent repair,  but creates another section to be repaired eventually.

2. Remove the gantry flexible piping and couplings to install in the damaged section temporarily to fuel a shuttle. A temporary repair.

3. Locate spare piping and couplings on the platform for a permanent solution to the damaged section of corridor.

CORRECTION

The "chill suits" are defined thusly.

ARMOR
ItemProtRADTLNotes
Improved Environment Suit+22010w/HUD TL11, 2kg, no skill required. Eye protection, geiger counter, toxrad badge, body camera , helmet lights, radio transceiver (50km), thermal protection between +/-200°C.

So, everyone is protected for up to 20 RAD per hour.
