Two questions regarding searches. First, I have a game that has been ongoing since 2004, so it has tens of thousands of posts in countless threads. I want to search for some NPCs that were in the game 10 or more years ago to reintroduce them but can't remember where they were at.

1) Is there any way to search your game generally for search terms (NPC name, etc.)?

2) Is there any way to search the Wiki page for the game using search terms? I tried this in the search on the right of the Wiki page but doesn't seem to search my game's wiki, but rather RPOL generally or something.

Short of opening each thread, displaying the whole thing using "All", and using your browser to search the resulting page, no, there is no way to search your game for terms that are not included in thread titles.

The same applies to the wiki pages.

I like to download the threads as PDFs then use a robust PDF search function to search through them.

Once you have the pdf files, there is a tool on linux called pdftotext. It will extract all of the text from a pdf to a separate file. That makes searching for where something exists much easier. From the command line at least. The text file with the text shows which pdf to open to look at all of the details in context. I use a small script to extract the text from all pdf files in a folder into matching text files. There should be similar tools in other environments.
