Re: OOC - Discussion
Sorry, it would have been better if I'd stuck to that scheduled but I made the mistake of not posting first thing in the morning Saturday and started fixing a sprinkler line instead.  Then one honey-do lead to another and I'm still soar from all the yard work.

Presuming it's my turn to act again, who seems to Demetrius to be in worse shape--Nantas or Patterson?

Re: OOC - Discussion
Both are relatively untouched.

Patterson has taken all of 2 Stress.

I'm not sure if Nantas has been hit at all; haven't kept track for him.

Re: OOC - Discussion
So seems like we're all pretty comfortable with combat.  I think the opposed rolls work as long as we're prompt posting the resolutions (myself included).

I am going to reduce the Menace rating of all the creatures by 1 (at least).   Just taking too long to burn through Stress tracks in PbP

Any other thoughts or changes anyone would like to suggest?

Re: OOC - Discussion
I really love that the fights are taking a while, so don't feel the need to make them less challenging yet :-)

You can reduce the complexity for you by not having NPCs fighting with us in the future.

Busy day today, wasn't expecting a substantial post, so I'll be back tomorrow to post at more length.

Re: OOC - Discussion
The ruleset is way too crunchy for me and I wouldn't run a game with this ruleset as a GM.
However, as a player, I'm OK to try it for a bit longer (also outside fights) before finally making up my mind on the topic. :)

Re: OOC - Discussion
Yeah it's kind of nice:

You want to do X?  Okay seems like these 2 stats would relate. Get Y successes

But I want to approach the problem this way.

Cool use that attribute instead.  Roll

Done.

Definitely up to the GM to figure out how things work out in a lot of situations.  For example...I was absolutely unsure what to do with a disarmed gladiator.  I mean, most of the time you disarm a foe they surrender and plead for their lives.  Or even run away, I can see that.  But in the middle of an arena combat with weapons lying all around with the intent to be picked up and used...

Other than those occasional "What the heck makes sense here" moments, it seems pretty easy and flexible to run.

I agree; it's much less crunchy than Conan.

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday; things have just been hectic. I expect to be able to update today.

Re: OOC - Discussion
I understand... I feel OK to play this ruleset as a player, but I still wouldn't feel comfortable as a GM.
Anyway, on this game I'm a player :)

I really want to play in a Conan game.  Would be my 1st choice of Modiphius 2d20 line.

No worries on posting, lord knows I've been slower than I'd prefer lately.

Re: OOC - Discussion
Alright, let's talk Eras.

Demetrius has made reference to John Carter so potentially we can be in the Jedak of Jedaks era.  All of the races know of each other, Helium and the Tharks have a cordial alliance and things are relatively stable.  John Carter, Deja Thoris and Tars Tarkas may still live and you might meet them at some point.

OR

These figures are gone.  Maybe they disappeared; after all Burroughs never got John Carter and Deja Thoris back from Jupiter in his final novel.  Maybe they're dead.  Maybe things have degraded and Barsoom is falling back into anarchy and isolation.

Any preferences?

Strong preference for them all being dead. I like the anarchy and isolation idea, or maybe some kind of new regime in the red lands. My character's premise is that he's from 2050 on Earth.

How is the presentation of Zodanga?
Does it match current state of things adequately?

Re: OOC - Discussion
Added some clarification for the scene in my last post including a simple (and not complete, the wagon is huge so there are more cells on each row going off to the right and left) diagram of the level you're on to hopefully illustrate how your cell is one in a few rows and there are walkways on both sides.

Let me know if that helps
