Great start Venom. No stress being new to play by post games; gotta start somewhere. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you have them (settings, mechanics, whatever)... I think we’re a pretty chill bunch...

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

For those who celebrate, Happy Easter / Joyous Ostara!  With no family coming around to visit due to pandemic isolation and distancing, today is going to be a pretty quiet day for me. If any of you are in the same situation and you get a chance to post today, I hope I’ll be able to reply fairly quickly. Anything to keep me from cleaning out the garage!

Hope everyone is doing well.

In reply to Hellfire (msg # 180):

Yep, I suppose you can.  She's probably not used to this, (both the tech and the go-gang automatic gun fire play date), so she addressed her question to Grendel.

Have we all got subvocal mics and ear pieces? Is that a standard function of a PocSec or is that an additional piece of tech that Pearlman gave each of us?

In reply to Mr. Johnson (msg # 184):

Apologies - I've missed that somehow. Thanks for clarifying. Are they worth adding to our PocSec sheets?

Just to be clear with my last IC post, I'm just sounding out opinions on how to proceed before Kord starts a full on firefight. My thought is to drop a grenade amongst them, probably targeting the Ronin more, to try to damage their vehicles and make it easier for Hellfire to get us clear. Does that sound like a plan? Are people happy with that?

The risk is that it prompts them to join together and both attack the limo......

In reply to Kord (msg # 185):

I could add the transceivers to your PocSec (they are already tracked in Hellfire’s PocSec as they belong to him).

As long as you get the grenade in properly and only splatter Ronin, there should be no chance of the gangs working together.  Even if you do catch some Razors in the blast, chances are it will become a three way Runners vs Ronin vs Razors free for all!

Thanks - before I post doing that I just want to double check that the other players are happy with me doing so as it could backfire rather badly....... :)

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

The way I see it, They are going to perforate the limo regardless of what we do. A few warning shots might make them evaluate what they are doing and slow the hell down to let us get away. from their perspective, we aren't stopping to join the fight we are hustling away.

So there are really two types of options we can take, We can shoot a couple of warning shots with the intent to purposely miss.

Pros:
-We are showing that they are getting too close and we can, and will, defend ourselves.
-We haven't actually caused them any damage so we are not a direct threat.
Cons:
-We are drawing direct attention to the nice shiny limo that is obviously full of MONEY. TARGET ACQUIRED!!!
-By missing we may appear to be amateurs, They might start thinking we are easy picking and come after us fo the haul.

Or we can do at at them and either damage their gear or perhaps kill some of them.
Pros:
-We let them know we are playing for keeps this may make them think we are not worth the trouble.
-Could also start them wondering which super rich person are they going to piss off who would want retribution.

Cons:
-If we damage or kill them we made it personal. They might decide their street cred is more important then their life.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

I think that’s two leaning slightly in favour of solving problems with a grenade launcher (Kord, Hellfire) with one still silent in the matter (Grendel) and one inactive (Acme).

I’ll let it stew for another day and if no one else chimes in, I’ll roll some dice and blast some Ronin!

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

There's nothing like a nice grenade to show people who's boss, and doing nothing would also show that you're a weak target, even if you miss they might think that was an intended warning shot.

Obviously I'm not actually involved at this point but wanted to just chime in.

Unless the other side bring a rocket launcher to the party :)

Hellfire just remember it is easier escalate matters than it is to deescalate, in any case good luck :)

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Biofeedback could have been offered as a possible complication to your weak success (a hard bargain between taking damage yourself or passengers taking damage). I chose to deal half the threat damage and split it with the vehicle and passengers just to keep the thread moving.

It’s all good, I know everyone’s got a whole host of different stressors in life right now. Hope you’re staying positive and healthy!

If you can’t get a chance to post, I’ll play out the next round of combat much like the last... things are still going pretty well for the team after all.

Not much else I can do but gun it. So stay frosty works for me unless everyone wants me to suddenly hit the break causing the bikes to crash into the limo.......That's a thing.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Fixed damage accounting in Mayhem and Mistletoe.  For the record:

-Vehicles take half damage from small arms.
-Anything left over is split between passengers... first damage is applied to passengers actively taking part in combat, then to other passengers.
-Kord and Grendel have enough armor that neither took damage from the hits they received...

...for stacking armor, I calculate based on full value of the highest armor rating plus 1 point for stacked armor (regardless of the value of any other pieces or armor that are worn).

...in this case since the gang aren’t loading armor piercing ammo and the limo soaked up much of the damage none of the PCs took damage. Tread carefully, chummers, without the limo soaking up bullets and with different ammo this may have been a deadly encounter!
