Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Hey guys.

Just wanted to note that if something goes down in prelude that doesn't jive with the direction you wanted to go with your character, just let me know and we'll rewind to smooth it all out.  I always like putting the meat on the character's bones this way, but don't let me push you into a concept you don't want to play.

Happy posting!

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

The RPOL terms of use are pretty clear about keeping the site free of material that infringes on copywrite.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Everyone should now be able to see a PocSec thread that includes a character sheet.  Feel free to give them a look, start fleshing out any left over details and of course ask about anything that doesn't make sense.

Awesome, thanks!
I'll make sure and fill some of that info out either through the prelude or before things really get going.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

In reply to Acme (msg # 61):

A couple things about Shamans in Sixth World -

Totem: Coyote comes with the boons and flaws I've added to your sheet.  If you want a more traditional approach where Coyote gives neither advantages nor disadvantages, I'm certainly open to changing it.

Spirits: You can start with a degree of comfort/knowledge in summoning three types of spirits.  You're not limited to nature spirits and can learn to conjure elementals and idols as well.  You gain knowledge of other spirits through research/roleplay.

Spells: once you level, you have the opportunity to "multiclass" which will give you access to spell casting.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Fair enough.  I'll admit that I'm not too familiar with this ruleset having only done the man Shadowrun rules of the 2nd-6th Edition, but I'll certainly do my best.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

It's all good.  The rules are pretty loose which makes them good for play by post.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

@Hellfire, @Acme - you guys are into the end of Prelude with a combat scene that highlights the Sixth World mechanics.

I know that escalated quickly, but you're both pretty much done chargen and Grendel is winding up too... I figured it's about time to wind this up and get into the first IC scenario.

Everyone, please welcome Kord to this merry gang!

@Kord - you should be able to see your PocSec thread.  Feel free to start off your prelude in the far flung drekhole of your choice.  Just flash up an introductory post of your unit deploying into the mission and we'll start from there.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Hey guys, had a question in PM that I'll bring out into the open.

quote:
With the PocSec thread do you want to discuss things like Cyberware in that thread or in PMs and then transfer the information to the PocSec thread once it's finalised?

You can use the PocSec thread however you like.  Only you and I should be able to see it.  Feel free to add character goals, stuff about contacts, backstory, shopping lists, whatever you like... just please leave updates to the character sheet itself to me.

Acme:

Haven't heard from her IC or PM.  Last check-in was awhile ago, but I haven't given up hope.  Either way, it seems likely she will miss the introductory scene.

I like this as a way of setting up characters in a game and I may well steal it as an idea in the future.
