Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Thank you all for the input. Play by post is my jam but I wanted move more into slightly faster gaming sessions especially moving forward at work where I will have several hours of down time. (The perks of the overnight security guard lol) my main thing is I can't really use a mic at home because my house is a zoo. I prefer texting. So any game I play would have to have a chat support unless I am at work.

Everyone else could talk but I would prefer to type. Maybe i am too fussy lol.

@Mr. J: I use TTS for warhammer 40k, the work modelers have put in making the models is just fantastic. The tables on the workshop are designed specifically to make playing easier. It isn't as good as playing with my real life models but It is pretty awesome and the freedom to play any time is a big selling point.

Also I have a customized Starfinder table that is fantastic. I intend to eventually run the against the Aeon throne adventure path (if I can find ppl who don't mind reading lol.) So I spent a couple hours converting the first 3 battle maps into 3D which is totally F'ing awesome if I do say so myself. I also created some cool pseudo 3D pawns using GIMP.

There is like 100000+ mods for it on the steam workshop some of them are old and have broken assets but most are usable.

TTS has a hot seat mode so my son and I were discussing playing some Star wars imperial assault or legion both of which have great boards and communities.

Sorry to go on but I really love table top simulator.

Sounds cool.  So you use it to play remotely with people you already know?  I think I'll check it out.

There is a large community for pretty much every game you can think of. Pretty easy to get a PUG going.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Hey yall sorry about being so damn quiet lately.  Things have been stress central at home, the kiddo is going through month 5 so there's so many transitions and stuff to try to work through as you can't quite get the month 6 stuff but you're worried he's outgrown anything for Month 3...   Add to that my wife being too hurt to help around the house with most tasks so it's up to me, and then the stress of quarantining, yeah... I'll finally get going here though.

Wellness Check:

How is everyone doing?  Hopefully no one is directly impacted by the pandemic (aside from being parked at home 'extreme social distancing').  Hope you are all doing well!

I'm fine. Been working from home for the last week and my boys are now off school for quite a while (the latest estimate in the UK seems to be 3 months).

Are you ok?

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

I am in my element. Usually I get grumpy because my days off quickly fill up with "doing stuff" Like visiting family or going to X place. My wife is a super germaphobe so her anxiety is through the roof every time we have to leave the house which means we don't leave the house much. Yesterday was grocery day so we put in our pick up order at Walmart. We only had to speak to 1 person who brought us our groceries. We asked them to stand back while my wife and I loaded the trunk (Made the associates job a little easier :) ) Then we had to head across the parking lot to the pet store for pet food. My wife went in alone. The store was empty she got pet food and a frog for our community tank on a whim. Well today the frog died, Turns out that is super common because they stress out easy. So we had to go back today to return it. The place was PACKED. Again my wife went in alone while the kids and I stayed in the car. The place was full of old people walking around petting each others dogs. Standing close to each other talking, like it was some kind of weird hang out. She said it was like something out of a nightmare. "Oh what a cute dog, what kind is it?" "it is a dog of DEATH lady get the hell away. Stupid plague barer." geez!

Here is the Starfinder table with map active. I did not make the table it is a workshop subscribe. I did assemble the map though using the one from the AP as a base.

Good, overall. I'm on the opposite end, long days and lots of overtime. Not much sleep.

I should have an update up shortly.

Those builds are really cool. They’re all home brewed using table top simulator?  How long does something like that take?

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

All the assets are off the steam workshop. If you need trees or rocks or whatever just search for it. So The above map took me about 20-30 minutes to make. Once saved it can be loaded again at will.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Venting time: I am stressed out A.F. Being hotel security I am still needed to stop break in and such. Last night at work I learned that management (who works from home) decided to open the doors to healthcare workers who want to self isolate from their family due to being high risk. Great now I get to spend my 10 hour shift with front line people. I guess no one cares about my family. Then I learned that the owners are discussing turning the hotel into make shift field hospitals and placing infected people in the building......great. I am not sure this is worth my minimum wage check.

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

That sucks man. I'm sorry to hear it.

Coming from a "front line" guy, that check is probably not worth it honestly.

Security fields are always hiring, and if you can take the hit to your finances while you seek out safer work, it might be worth it.

Just my two cents.

That does suck.

What is the company planning to do for employees that get sick?

Mr. Johnson:
I can't push the trace any further right now, but I’ve put an SK onto sorting those calls.  Might take another day to find anything interesting.

What is an SK please?

Mr. Johnson:
:: LTG# 904 (62-9033) :: {Angel}

Also, am I reading this correctly that Angela uses the online handle Angel or is it just a typo?

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

Damn deckers and their geek speak... an SK is a semi autonomous know bot; a complex program agent capable of endured matrix presence particularly suited to repeated tasks where a simple filter would miss important information.

The decker crowd at GEI all have nicknames, so it’s a safe assumption that she uses the handle Angel... but unless you ask her outright or get a ‘jack and get on the grid, you’ll never know for sure...

Re: OOC Idle Chatter

I just want to take a minute to offer an apology. My commitment to the game has been put on the back burner the last 3 days due to the stress levels in life. The outside world has interfered with me and I haven't been able to get into the head space to enjoy anything let alone this game. On the bright side. I was approved for a 2 week vacation so I can stay home and focus on what is important to me. I hope to return to a head space where I can up my posts. Again sorry.
