Re: OCC: Introductions

Hey everyone, nice RPing I have some OOC for each of you.

Nothing to do with your characters, but we need to form the group or there is no adventure. I like you are playing your characters as true as can be. BUT if some type of compromise doesn't happen we don't have an adventure.

Thelonius can't offer what the Characters are asking for. He could lie?? but then thats not his character. The players don't want to show their player knowledge as part of the characters. Excellent, and great RPing.

I will have to ask for rolls before the sense end if its not role-played out.

Thekonius makes a Charisma check, or related social skill test and a post, if successful players most reply in character to agree. Players can contest the roll if they like.

Hope it can be RPed :)

It would still be 6 + 2 = 8, a crappy roll.

The way I let them leave is a good way to reflect this bad roll imho.

Yup haha

Diplomacy 16
Sense Motive 13 to try to figure out if Thelonius is playing hardball or is really not able to meet Tarrano and Esparam's demands.

I don’t have to do a counter roll correct? Just waiting on Caladin?

Is this a contested diplomacy roll or sense motive?

If this is a diplomacy roll I have a modified 0. If it is a sense motive roll I have a 2.

13:34, Today: Tarrano Grazlak rolled 1 using 1d20 with rolls of 1.

If it is both then I have the following:

Sense Motive of 11 after the 0 Diplomacy.

13:36, Today: Tarrano Grazlak rolled 10 using 1d20 with rolls of 10.

As an aside i hope I start rolling better.

Correct you set the DC with the first roll. On sense motive so no counter because you were not bluffing or hiding your feeling.

So this was perfect, the rolls all made sense and the posting was appropriate. Nice work everyone, no edits on my end at this point.

Re: OCC: Introductions

I've edited my last post in IC to include Esparam's plan for the day.

Time can pass for him until early morning of the next day, unless you want to RP something, Caladin (like, meeting one of the yet-to-be-introduced characters or something).

Re: OCC: Introductions

So Our first "Time Passes Segment"

Each player freely posts a closing post, the longer the better.

The post should not be interaction with the other player but can have assumptions personal thoughts and or non-related adventure story line a memory etc etc.

Example:

Borohorn looks into his empty mug of ale, ....

What an interesting today it was, I finial reached Basir and in all its wonder its still like any another city of this size. I will say the people are friendly to me, I meet this human today, he spoke of an interesting adventure, I will set out with him and maybe a few others to the sands and hot sun of the desert. He says he has a map and it will lead to some lost temple. You know these these types they always cover their statues in gold and gems. I guess we shall see if this map is real or not.

OOC Time pass as my dwarf gets a room and stays the night, since no one said where to meet I think the tavern is going to be home base and will stay here the night I will wait for early morning for their arrival.

So does Thelonius provide loaned horses? It wasn't really clear to me.
Because if he doesn't, Esparam may come back with a donkey

We buy a donkey after we arrive to our final port. It can serve as the parties beast of burden but mainly for Esparam.

Re: OCC: Introductions

Carrying Capacity
A light load for a donkey is up to 50 pounds; a medium load, 51-100 pounds; and a heavy load, 101-150 pounds. A donkey can drag 750 pounds. 8 gp to buy.

Probably best if The donkey is used only for Esparam's character since its carrying capacity is a little low.

I'm just over by 12ish pounds, so it's totally shareable. Then again with a fighter and an hobgoblin, I don't think you guys really need help with carrying stuff, do you? :p
Hopefully the other characters won't need help either

Or, we all chip in for a light horse (150/300/450)

I don't see Tarrano or Thelonius needing a pack animal. I would assume the rest of the party will not need one either.

I was under the impression that I can get horses or at least pack animals as part of our supplies. Whether we get it here in Baris or in our final port. :/

Re: OCC: Introductions

The current IC players can post with one - the longer the better post closing the events of the first day.

Staying at this tavern will not be an issue there is room.

Any special items to buy most first be requested. All standard items can be found in this city and the price will be normal as per players-handbook and or KOK equipment guild book.

Masterwork is available and is average price as per books.

NO magic item can be bought - FYI I normally do not have nor are they normally available to buy in the game in general. There is no-such thing as a common magic item, but some are more available then others.

Scrolls and potions can be found in the right shop. And some have a heavy premium. Healing potion is anything would be on the common side of the conversation :)

I will start the second IC which will be IC:Day 2

the question is more along the lines of how much is the empire funding this expedition so we have a general idea of what can be requested. Say like 50 GP tops, more? Less?

Its not an amount, its the type of items.

If you want mountain climbing gear it would be a no, because your not expect to be climbing any mountains in this adventure.

The talk about horses, I would say no also, because the area is a swamp region. Horses would be a waste of money. Not that it couldn't just doesn't make sense, if you have a special ride or already had a horse fine but to buy one. Not yet.

Funds for a guild when you get closer maybe a good idea, or a river/flat boat to work your way could work.

Think New Orleans - marsh lands and swamp regions. It is walk-able, but not fast or in a straight line.
