The Director:
Thraka:
I'd like to join Redwood pt II, but I'd also like to have a tenday for basic training of my pup. If that means I skip Redwood pt II then so be it :)
Eventually your companions decided to wait until the puppies are fully grown (6 tendays), so you can join, if you want.
quote:
OOC: Raising your ebony cumasti puppy to a young mature dog takes six tendays and during this time the puppy needs to be taken care under all points of view (it won't defend itself, feed on its own, etc.)
Once the puppy will reach young maturity, it will use the following statistics:
SKILL 5
STAMINA 5
Specia Skills: Sneaking (3) (in forest), Awareness (2), Hunting (1) (in forest)
Talents: Fleet Footed, Combat Reactions, Survivor
Cumasti dogs are very loyal and protective of their masters. These dogs are known for their speed. There fur is the brown/black of the forest which helps them blend in with their forest surroundings.
A young mature Cumasti dog is strong enough to drag the body of one Elf or a light man on forest grounds.
Once a Cumasti dog reaches full size at full maturity, at five years of age, it can carry a light rider (Elf or light man) and it can fight while carrying a rider, but the rider can not also attack unless he or she succeeds on a Ride check.
You can use some animal training special skill to teach a cumasti dog to follow simple orders (sit, jump, roll, bark...) after three tendays and after it reaches young maturity you can teach more complex orders (follow, hunt, bring back...) one order every tenday, requiring a successful Special Skill roll for simple order and with a -2 for more complex orders.
Orders that are properly linked to fighting and riding require more difficult rolls, longer times and, above all, the age of full maturity.
So "You can use some animal training special skill to teach...." I have no animal special skill. Do I need to buy that SS or is it just not possible for me to have trained her at all while it's been growing to young mature status??
Getting a new SS costs 20xp and a teacher with 3 points in that SS.
Would I need to learn the Animal Lore SS? Could I assume there would be someone to teach me that SS?
Then, after 3 of the 6 tendays between adventures I can teach Elhana one of the basic commands of sit, jump, roll, bark etc with a dice roll OOC; and after the second set of 3 of 6 tendays she can know a second with a successful roll. In other words, if I take Animal Lore I can roll twice here and on two successes Elhana will know two basic commands.
And now, in game, I can spend time (either 1x tenday or 3x tendays) training Elhana to know basic or complex commands. Right?
