The thread was actually open, just fixed to the top, as a notice. As it looks like you had some issue accessing it, I removed that as well, just in case, so you should have free access to it now.

Today is my last day of holiday - tomorrow I should (hopefully) be back to "normal" and deal with your posts as usual and with the essays competition.

The recurrence of the 1st October is an opportunity to look back at the past of this living campaign and do some statistics. The most obvious count is the posts count:

First year: 2,500 posts
Second year: 3,000 posts
Third year: 3,800 posts
Fourth year: 2,800 posts

Total posts: 12,100 !!!

Between the 1st October 2020 and the 1st October 2021 there were 2,800 posts, that are slightly below average, but still a great number, especially during a difficult year for many people (of course including myself).
Hopefully the future will motivate more people to have fun and role-play :)
Another factor to consider is that perhaps "simple" websites like RPoL are becoming a bit less fashionable for RPG support and it appears that there are less gamers available.

What do you think?

RPOL has a place, and it may not be for everyone. I use Roll 20, and hope to get back to SATT roleplaying as well, but I was using RPOL for different reasons, which still apply,so I don't think RPOL is in danger, its just with more options, some people find a better fit elsewhere

I like RPOL because it's asynchronous -- I'm able to fit in gaming among work, family, and community activities -- and because it has a decent OSR community. It's faster than play by mail, but doesn't require blocking several hours of time. Glad y'all are here!

I've been using rpol since like college I think and I'm in my late thirties now
 The games are slower on here but on the plus side I get exposure to a worldwide player base that I don't get access to at home very easily. And that helped me reach out to other players at a time when it was very hard for me to do so.

Under my point of view, I love how RPoL manages the groups (which allows me to run multiple, separate adventures happening all at the same time, with different groups of characters, within the same campaign. I make use of these features a lot, when running this campaign.

I really like this website's settings like you have normal and mature and adult. And then of course you have the group settings I think a through z and I think there's numbers as well. And of course you can interject as momentary non-player characters or actually make little profiles which is cute.

I have a question my character doesn't wear armor so does that mean he cannot make any type of armor check or is there something else he can do to mitigate incoming damage?

So right now he is technically unarmored. Does that mean he takes the full damage then? Or does he like make some sort of Dodge roll or does that require a talent? I'm just feeling all my options as this is the first time he's taking direct weapon damage rather than like something environmental.

Dodge is a Special Skill, but Rennias doesn't have it.
I suspect he will just take the damage.
