The 1st of October is the perfect time for me to review how the Blackmoor Living World campaign is doing (as it started on the 1st of October) and of course the number of posts in the various adventures that are part of the campaign is an important indicator that is easy to track in time.
This is the current situation:

First year: 2,500 posts
Second year: 3,000 posts
Third year: 3,800 posts
Fourth year: 2,800 posts
Sixth year: 1,900 posts

Total: about 14,000 posts

Obviously last year was the year with the least posts so far, so I will have to make some good consideration.
What are your thoughts and comments?

You would need to consider a few other factors such as number of players - recruitment versus fallout, and whether these were regular or occasional posting players.

Other main factor is always real life and illness especially. Last year we were all still recovering from COVID19 and in my profession we've got a huge amount of extra work to do to make up the time we all lost. So I have less time available on a night to engage with my hobbies, and I'm not alone with this.

So instead of three times a week I'm posting twice, but the posting rate of other players who I'd normally bounce off has fallen too. So before you'd get me and another player or two with multiple posts in a day a couple of times a week then a "this is our action" declaration message, it's taking us a couple of weeks to get through the bouncing ideas and chatting stage of the posts. So it's taking us twice as long to do anything, which in turn creates player lethargy and they drop out or fade from the game as a consequence meaning it's harder for the remaining players to get to the declaration posts as they're waiting on another character to act or speak.

I just realized I might have been rolling my skill checks incorrectly. Although I believe I succeeded on both of those roles because I think you're supposed to roll a 2d6 and try to get at her underneath your skill total. Which in this case is my magic plus one for both magic lore and second sight. And that total is nine and I think the first one was way under like out of five and I think the second one just barely makes it at like an 8 or something.

IC or OOC? IC - character description is there for all to see. A novice elf keen to see the world, right it's wrongs (or some of them at least), enjoy good company and try to find the humour in all things.

That might apply IRL also, apart from the 'novice' bit - I am no longer young, even in the reckoning of men, as some old hack once said.

Ah, no problem. I'm a longtime gamer (40+ years), started on 1st edition AD&D and it was love at first sight! I've been on RPOL since 2009 and play in a handful of games, some of which are still going from before my time here (many others have come and gone). I had a few Fighting Fantasy books back in the day (Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Citadel of Fire) but they appear to have been lost in the mists of time, unlike everything else I've collected in my long gaming career.

I'm something of a history buff as far as D&D goes, and I have some (though far from extensive) knowledge of Blackmoor and Dave Arneson's campaign, though I've never gamed in it - this should prove an enlightening experience for player and character both!

Vanomir follows the classic D&D elven trope - part warrior, part wizard (and perhaps not particularly adept at either). Magic - Wizardry is my magic game, singing clearly not.
