Star Frontiers fans:  What kind of game are you looking for?

As a massive Star Frontiers and Knight Hawks fan I am always looking for new ideas for games and players to play them.  To the Star Frontiers fans on this site, what kind of game are you looking for?

Star Frontiers is one of those early systems that is both simple and versatile.  It can be used for just about anything sci-fi related; as the existing modules range from planet exploration (the very first) to space based commerce.

It's also on the old side, so many people might not have heard of it past the occasional reference or two.  But yeah, if you're wanting non-specific setting sci-fi....this is your game.

I've run a Star Frontiers game here on RPoL for 15+ years. Recently put it on hiatus due to life craziness. It was very well received and we stuck with the old rules from the 80s. I made the Zebulon Guide extra rules optional. There are also a bunch of new things published through the Starfrontiersman. They have some great ideas. The game itself has aged fairly well and is easily updated for current technology. The percentile roll has always intrigued me more than the d20 or 3d6 (GURPS).

The good thing about Star Frontiers is that, even though the game itself went out of print around 1990 or so, the fan products coming out are great. It is generic enough to be adaptable, and the modules that came out are easily used. I used them in RPoL and added a touch of homebrew items and goals. It was very smooth.

Star Frontiers is still my favorite SciFi RPG out there compared to, for example, Alternity or GURPS.

Also, I would add that, for many years, Star Frontiers rules and modules were freely accessible online. Not sure if they still are, but a "revival" of the game online has led to pretty much everything easily accessible.

I recall there is also some sort of Wiki site devoted to the game that is really good.

I suspect a Warriors of White Light game would garder sufficient interest.

I also remember wanting to play a Humma from the Zebulon Guide at one point of time.

I always wanted to run a campaign set on Laco's World during the Corporate Wars, the players as a mercenary team doing Desert Rats type patrol missions.

I wouldn't start a new campaign like that unless I had at least 4 players but I'll keep you in mind if there is more interest :)
