Recently I've had the urge to run a science-fantasy game. Basically your typical sci-fi setting but including wizards and magic! The setting would mostly be a mishmash of other RPG settings that I like.
The setting would be some far flung galaxy (like Star wars) where the various aliens/races (modelled after D&D races) fly around in various types of sleek, shiny spacecraft. You, on the other hand, would play a crewmember of the Pelican; a barely flying transport (ala Firefly) that has been running less-than legal salvage ops on the fringes of civilized space.
When the Pelican stumbles upon a pair of derelict and disabled vessels, one a Draconian Dreadnought and the other obviously alien of unknown origin, the crew of the Pelican may have just struck it rich. As in "buying a small moon" rich.
I'm thinking a mostly freeform game (mostly focused on story and worldbuilding) but I may include a super simple and basic skill based homebrew system. It would be the most basic idea of a system that would take all of three minutes to learn.
Anyone interested in a game like this?
I decided to make the Game anyway, because I had so many ideas running around in my head so I started work on the game wiki. You can find it and learn more about the simple system I've created
HERE.
