I have it in my head to create a Pirate game. Slightly wacky, genre aware, satirical, plenty of room for fun in addition to the action and adventure. There would be some Magical elements, Supernatural stuff like huge sea monsters or ghost pirates. Not at all historically accurate, in fact not even set in the real world. We would almost certainly be using Savage worlds, and I think I would home brew up some rules for ships and sailing.

As proud owner of Pirates of the Spanish Main, 50 Fathoms and Buccaneer who never got to use any of the material I'd be so interested in a game like this.

There are plenty of vehicle rules in savage worlds that making custom ships should be easy.

In reply to Yun74 (msg # 2):

Which of those Rule books would you say would be best for a fun adventure featuring a little bit of Supernatural elements?

If you scrub off the cosmetics I would suggest the best mix of supernatural and technological rules is the Rifts Savage Worlds setting, the SWADE versions are quite well done.

I would be interested in this. Sounds pretty cool. Very Pirates of Dark Water/Pirates of the Caribbean

The game is not quite ready to launch, but I'm ready to start accepting characters.
