Battlestar Galactica

I loved the original Battlestar Galactica TV show when it first came out, and then when Star Frontiers brought out the Knight Hawks expansion with space ship combat, all I ever wanted to do was play a Battlestar Galactica campaign with my Knight Hawks rules.  Unfortunately back then my gaming group was like most gaming groups all D&D, all the time.  Getting together enough people for a game was always a struggle but now we have new resources.

Would there be any interest from this group in a Battlstar Galactica themed game of Knight Hawks/Star Frontiers?

I'm not familiar with the ruleset, but I am a BSG fan. I think there would be more interest if you pitched a specific story concept.

Battlestar Galactica

OK then, the backstory of the Star Frontiers universe is a bit sketchy to say the least.   And we all know how much a story can change from it's original version as it gets retold over and over again.  So I am taking the basic Battlestar Galactica concept of a refugee fleet and used that story to fill some of the holes in the history of The Frontier.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Early colonization of the Frontier: Part 1
There has been much conjecture over the years about the early history of the region of space we now know as The Frontier.  Fact has become fiction, fiction has become fact as the stories of the past have been told and re-told.  Many popular modern holonovels contain elements of the truth but it has been so twisted to suit the audience the truth is no longer recognizable, until now.
Recently discovered records from the Eorna archives on Volturnus have turned up some intriguing evidence.  What appear to be ships logs from a vessel that entered Frontier space long before any previous recorded encounter, will turn history upside down if they are proved to be authentic.
These records suggest that this ancient ship may have indeed come from the original home worlds of all four founding Frontier races and though some of the names and events may seem familiar, history is not what it seemed.
It all began long ago, when a fleet of refugee ships arrived from The Vast Expanse, entering the Frontier in the Theseus system.  These refugees were being hunted by a relentless enemy with an enormous flag ship and swarms of deadly fighters.  The few military vessels with the refugee fleet had managed to hold off pursuit until now but they were in dire need of resupply and reinforcements if they were ever to make a stand against their hunters.
As they wandered the Frontier searching for resources and allies it seems this fleet of refugees may have brought with them the founders of our society.
An excerpt from the ships logs...
This sounds interesting, I am a fan of both: original BSG and Star Frontiers.
Battlestar Galactica
Good idea.
Would it be humans and cylons or humans and the aliens of star frontiers?
Battlestar Galactica
In reply to Moore (msg # 5):
I'm not sure I want to give away who the enemy is but the players would be the captains of the ships fleeing the enemy or captains of ships encountered in Frontier space so the 'colonials' would be meeting members of the Frontier races for the first time.
Battlestar Galactica
With only a couple of responses I think it's pretty safe to assume there is not that much interest in this style of game so I will shelve that idea and move on to something more popular.  Thanks for the feedback folks.
