Any interest in a TORG (1990) game?

I am considering a slightly updated Original TORG game; it would use the cards from Eternity and split XP from Possibilites, but would otherwise be the original rules set with all the "minigames".

I am at heart a Player, so offering to run this is a big step for me.

Torg is just great. I'd love to play in a game. I ran a tabletop game over a few years when it game out and enjoyed every bit of it.

So many choices!!! So many character options to try out.

I think splitting xp from possibilities is a good idea. I don't know what the Eternity cards are (are they the original cards or a different set). In either case the cards are good: they add a lot to the game.

I was following Torg since the 1990s never had a group to play it but I have the books as well as the new version.

I'd love to play it,

I actually like the old Possibility as exp rule, they made sense especially since you had other ways to train.

@xp
I've tried both ways. The experience I had was that keeping as Xp discourages people from using possibilities, penalises people that are team players and makes the game less heroic.

Basically if you hoard possibilities you get more Xp, and this rewards the wrong kind of behavior. It does make sense. It is totally in line with the genre, i'm just happy the GM has decided to go with more rewarding gameplay rather than the 'explain where Xp came from'.

My books are in storage (the old and the new) I just hope I can get them on drivethru rpg or something

Torg Eternity is the new release. It split the Player cards from the Initiative cards, and I will be using that deck.

All the Old TORG books are available on DTRPG, I believe.

I need 4 players minimum to open a game. I want 6 to play. 9 would be maximum.

One other note: on the GJN (Glass Jawed Ninja) concern--I will use the Result Point Option.

If this thread gets the interest needed, I will continue in the in-game forum.

Feel free to rMail me questions.

I mean, I own the old Torg boxed set and a couple of books but haven't read them in...decades. I have the books from the new Kickstarter (the core stuff, not the expansions since then). So I vaguely remember things and would be like a newbie since I only ever played one time. But I'm interested.

I haven't played TORG since... let's see... I'm thinking 1992? I'd love to take a shot at it! I have most of the original sourcebooks, but my knowledge of the mechanics is sketchy -at best-.

I would absolutely join! I have gotten very used to Eternity, but old Torg had a lot going for it. I mean, the obvious first question is "can I have twenty characters so I can try all the things?"

But since the answer is the equally obvious "no," I will gladly settle for one. But yes, I'd love to play.

I'm interested, but I don't understand how you are blending the systems.

I had the original box set, but never got a chance to play or run it. I definitely don't remember the rules any more. I have the typical 'bucket of dice' but the d20 that came with the box is my favorite die of all time--it always rolls good for me!

I'd like to give it a shot if you don't mind a 'technical' newbie.
