IC: Cortex Prime Superhero High School

With the recent release of the Cortex Prime book, I’ve got an itch to run a superhero high school game again.

I don’t mind teaching people how to play, but I’d need you to have access to the book. Cortex Prime itself would be best. But Smallville or MHR would work, too.

For characters I’m leaning towards teenage versions of existing superheroes from any of the various comic universes. Marvel, DC, M&M, etc.

The tone we’d be going for is somewhere between the fun cartoons (JLA, Avengers, etc) and the more dramatic live-action shows (Arrow, Supergirl, etc).

Would anyone be interested?

Seems like it could be interesting, though I don't know much about the system.  Is it something like a D10 thing?

I’d be interested if you did Smallville. Would love to play a game of that. The character creation process alone makes it worth it.

Avengers High might be interesting, but I’d prefer originals.

In reply to Bod Man (msg # 3):

It would basically be a mix of Smallville and MHR. Start with MHR. Drop Affiliations for Values and Relationships.

I could see that. I just really like the stepwise and group process for character creation in smallville. Masks is another one that could be interesting to look at. Be like Sky High movie.

I've played in a superhero game using Masks.  Based on Teen Titans, but using OCs.  It was hella fun, actually!  I'd be up for that.

I would love a chance to play a Cortex Prime teen supers game. Played a short-lived Smallville game based on the Teen Titans.

Can anyone post a link to anyplace to (legally) get Cortex Prime books?

I've googled it and only found links to a kickstarter I didn't back that ended years ago, and to the game's homepage (https://www.cortexrpg.com/) which has literally no content other than an announcement that they'd been bought by some other company.

A Pre-release just went out to Kickstarter backers last week. At the moment there's no way to pre-order and I expect the book will be available publicly in a month or three.

It looks good though. I miss me some Cortex goodness.

I’d be interested in playing. Sounds like it could be pretty cool. I’ve got the book for the Smallville game and it seems like a good system.
