Looking to settle in the Plains Commonwealth? (ADULT)

"Good morning, folks, this is Travis 'Lonely' Miles here with you again for another beautiful day in the Commonwealth. For those of you just waking up, it is the 13th of March and we are looking at a relatively warm high of fifty-two degrees. Here's today's stories:

Director Olsen of the Institute has requested that anyone interested in assisting with work 'far away from the Commonwealth and vital to the rebirth of civilization' come meet with himself and other like-minded individuals at Bunker Hill Commons this evening at six pm for a discussion of 'extreme importance for all mankind'.

In an unexpectedly coincidental bit of timing, we have also received word from representatives of the Brotherhood of Steel's local forces that the airship, Prydwen, is due to arrive later this afternoon and that the commanding officer intends to meet with representatives of Bunker Hill on, supposedly, an unrelated matter though given their interest in technology I'd expect they'd have some interest in whatever Director Olsen has cooking up.

It was nearly thirty years ago when we were all still worried about the threat of the Institute and the quote 'Synth Menace' that one morning we were awoken by a voice being announced all over the Commonwealth by radio that the Brotherhood of Steel had arrived and we first caught sight of the massive airship, and I know for some of you the news that it is returning might feel like a sign of bad times to come but things have changed in the last few decades and aside from the Deathclaws, marauding Raiders, and the odd Super Mutant uprising, I think we all remember the force from Salem that tried to attack Diamond City eight years ago, things have been pretty quiet all things considered.

So I think I feel safe enough to say welcome back to the Commonwealth, Prydwen crew, hopefully, you'll enjoy a peaceful trip. And as Shirley and Lee like to say 'Let the Good Times Roll'."

Crawl Out Through the Fallout 2 takes place in the year 2313, 236 years after the Great War, a war between the United States and China over natural resources that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077, and 25 years after the events of Crawl Out Through the Fallout (and by extension the video game Fallout 4). The story's prologue will begin in a region known as "The Commonwealth" which includes Boston, Massachusetts and other parts of New England. The initial PCs will be visitors or inhabitants of Bunker Hill, formerly a small settlement that has grown to become one of the largest towns in the Commonwealth. After the prologue the game will be primarily set in the Plains Commonwealth (particularly the region around Eastern Colorado, Western and Central Kansas, and Southern Nebraska) and any further characters will either have passed through that way or been from that region.

Once in the new region there will be an overarching storyline which will serve as the primary reason for the PCs being there but they will also be starting up a new settlement to have a place to call home while working on the main goal.

For those who wish they can stay around said new settlement and just live their life: find a home, settle down with a partner, try and help the community thrive. This will be a little bit softer RP built more around PC and NPC interactions with occasional throw-ins from me (after all there are always going to be those pesky Raiders looking to take what you've got).

For those who wish to explore the Plains they are more than welcome to do so too: Maybe the community needs some rare materials to help expand, or perhaps the Tatos just won't take to the new ground and someone needs to try and make friends with another settlement to get some trade going. Or maybe rumor has reached the community that one of the legendary Vaults has been uncovered and is ripe for the looting. The Plains cover a large region and it has currently only been covered by one non-canon Fallout game prior (some locations will be taken from said game) so for those more familiar with the more recent releases in the Fallout franchise it will be a completely new playground. As a side note there will be vehicles included in the game in time because, again, this game is going to cover a large region and traveling by foot won't cover it all the time.

And whether you choose the nice settlement lifestyle or the life of an explorer you aren't locked into a play mode by any means: one of the community's guards can just as easily want to go on a scavenging run as one of the explorers might want to take a few days to rest after weeks away from home.

The game utilizes the Fallout 2d20 RPG created by Modiphius Entertainment (though it is semi-freeform for those who stay away from the less dice-rolley parts of the game).
