D&Dish-homebrew: Playtest Beta. Two distinct experiences.
Hey! V here.
You know, it's been a rough few months. Just about a year ago, my townhouse was destroyed from a fire. I started this game shortly thereafter, and from there had major crash, again, this time from a major outlet for gaming information going offline. I have since found replacement, which I hope dearly will remain online for years to come.
Nearly a year later, I'm starting to build my life, and this game back up.
I currently have two main groups. One is much more world building, with both story driven and character driven advancement.
The other more hack'n'slash game based largely on the events of Diablo 2, the acclaimed PC game, with quite few twists and many, many more quests to embark on.
The concepts are easy for me, because the system has both some diceless aspects and those that follow the d20 feel; attacks vs AC, Saves vs DCs. Damage being boiled down to meaningful values; where you have control of how you build your character. Levels, in this system, are important, but you could, very feasibly, be 3rd level for the majority of the game and have far more HP, AC, or attacks than a level 12.
I like this because it meshes my love of point buy systems, and those classical aspects of D&D. It is homebrew, but largely a pre-existing system, adapted for this RPG, called Warlord.
I hope we can have some fun with the concepts and ideas the emerge from testing this adaptation. I look forward to seeing the response.
