Come join our deadly game of politics, power, and espionage

A new day has begun....it is the morning and here is where we are.

Saxon's - Funeral and blessings of the graves  will be held in the morning and then from there the Queen is hosting a sort of jubilee, to bring the kingdom together in unity.  There are rumors about the village that a Viking had been captured and is being held, a guard told this person, who told another, and another...  The royal family will be sending a gift -ahem- message to the Vikings so be warned at the Norse camp in the morning hours you will receive this -ahem- gift/message. The King is about a day away from returning with his full forces as his son Prince Olis is securing alliances with another Kingdom.

Norsemen - Your healer, Tam is held captive by morning the news will be known throughout the camp.  A party will be assembled to rescue him.  Fortifications of defensive actions are under way, as is the building of Norse homes, farms are being planned, and more of the clan arrives soon, sons, daughters, friends, loved ones are bound for the shores to make a new home. One Norse has spies in the castle, tracking the Saxon's every move.

We are in need an apprentice blacksmith for the Norse, as we are in need of a female character of either Norse of Saxon blood who is willing to play a servant/thrall as part.  We need a Norse carpenter/boat builder, a seer or anything you wish to try your hand at.

As for the Saxton's - we could use more everyday type characters, farmers, stable-master, groomsmen, Castle staff, King's Council members, lords, or ladies.

There is room for all so do come and join us.

We are still open for new players, if interested PM me and I'd be glad to answer any questions.  As for where we are in game let me give you a little update.

It is still in the morning period and everyone is gathering about on both sides.  We have the Norse gathering to plan a rescue mission and the Saxon's busy getting ready for the services of those who perished in the battle.

Spies are all over the Saxon village of Righteous and though the surfaces appears perfect their are many hairline type cracks within.  The Queen is hoping to unite her fractured people, the King is still a good day away from arrival, though one messenger rode ahead, making it back to alert the royal council that their King is indeed heading back and is making haste in his efforts.  Word is also beginning to get out the Prince Olis has been speaking with another Kingdom trying to secure reinforcements.  Only no one knows but their is a spy within the royal family and this person is feeding it to the Norse.

The Norse camp is planning the rescue of their captive brethren, Tam.  His brother is not inwardly accepting of decisions made and just might go off on his own it appears, his sister, caught between her brother and the Jarl is finding just how hard it is to be Queen.

The game could use a Norse boat builder/carpenter who came over with the settling party.  We could also use wavers, brewers, fishermen, sheep herders, etc.

There is a sub-plot and a female character is being requested for this; more information can be given if you PM.

Saxon's could use groomsmen, Thegns, castle staff, etc.

As the game progresses I just wish players to keep in mind the Saxon's will eventually lose the Kingdom to the Norse.  This doesn't mean all Saxon characters will die or such, I'd never ask a player that and once it happens we will make sure there is a place for your character no matter if it is a Saxon or Norse, or even a Pict, Celt, etc.

Come on in and welcome to Righteous.  A Saxon city not to different then Wessex, but there is a slight difference you see... the game is set in the time period right before before King Alfred the Great reigned Wessex, in this tale the Norse take control of Righteous and as the game proceeds it will slowly take over each of the great cities and untie them under one Norse King.  Come and join the telling of this what if game.

Right now we are coming close to ending the morning period and everyone is gathering about on both sides, still but revelations have been made and discoveries as well.

Spies are milling about the Saxon village of Righteous and though the surfaces appears perfect their are many hairline type cracks within.

***We have lost a player and while I was saddened by it I will look back on the characters and remember the player fondly.  With that I figured it was time to dust off this ad and see if maybe some others would be interested in joining.  We are a small group and the pace is neither slow nor fast, I say it is steady.***

******************************************************

Now let me give you a little update on the game as it has been a month since I last refreshed this ad.

It is now the afternoon of the Queen's jubilee and everyone is gathering about on both sides.  We have the Norse gathering to plan a rescue mission and the Saxon's busy getting ready for feasting, drinking, and dancing into the night.

The Norse camp is planning the rescue of their captive brethren, Tam.  The Norse spy has received a way in, Tam's older brother has come to accept the new  Völva's words, a shield maiden has brought her bounty to share in offering to the Goddess Eir.  Both sides are coming to terms with what lies ahead.

The game could use a Norse boat builder/carpenter who came over with the settling party.  We could also use weavers, brewers, fishermen, sheep herders, etc.

The Rightful Ones, is a twist on history and the what-if's stories as it plays out and the Saxon's eventual collapse to the Norse.

Now prepare yourself for an adventure in history as you begin to write your story!

The soon to be appointed chieftain/Jarl of the Norse (northman/Vikings), Erland, must merge his clan with the locals and build a village of his own. If he can succeed his name will forever be remembered in the rune-stones.  Erland sailed his ships west as the seer advised with many talks of treasure, prosperous lands, and climate weather; the Norse are ready to start life in this new land.

While the Saxon’s fear these savages and try to repel them at first it soon becomes clear they are not Viking's and they aren’t leaving.  And what better way to protect their fertile lands then by befriending the enemy.

Can the Saxons learn to trust the Norse clan now looking to call their land home?  Will the Norse use their trade savvy ways to earn the trust of the locals or will they violently take over the land?

Come step into history and tell your characters tale.

We need all manner of characters...seamstresses, brewers, smiths, carpenters, etc......

The Norse camp is planning the rescue of their captive brethren, Tam.  The Norse have a spy inside the Castle, two in fact.  Tam's older brother, Honnu, has come to accept the new Völva’s words, he as well as others in the Viking settlement have come to see her as their own, two characters Eria and Damjan have made her a makeshift home.  There is a shield maiden, Fryea who has brought some of her bounty to share in offering to the Goddess Eir.  She is also joining the camp.

In the Kingdom of Righteous the Bard and Tavern maid are discussing possible outcomes, in the Courtyard a very powerful Lord watches over the people as he manipulates the Queen.  The Princess is starting to understand that to help the people you most know the people, and so has decided to walk among them.  She is talking with a local farmer and some nobles have arrived, one a very good friend of the Princesses.  Meanwhile the King is scheduled to arrive on the next IG morning.  The Prince is in Northumbria trying to convince the King to come assist Righteous, but it is not going so well.

Both sides are coming to terms with what lies ahead.

The game could use a Norse boat builder/carpenter who came over with the settling party.  We could also use weavers, brewers, fishermen, sheep herders, etc.

We are looking for some new players.

This is a medieval loosely based historical free-form adult RPG. The plot surrounds two Kingdoms one fighting for its right to claim and forge a new life in (and on) new lands and the other trying to keep its control, keep its lands and be free from raids.

The game will focus on the people; the royal family, nobles, military (Knights), and common folks for the Saxons people and the newly crowned Jarl, his warriors, and the Norse people who followed their Jarl to this new land to prosper.  Stories will focus on the period and conflict on various levels from individual conflicts to wars between kingdoms.

In this game, it will chronicle the reign of both the Saxons and and the Norse (Northman), the people surrounding them and the choices they make with the consequences of those choices.

Please PM me to discuss.

We have moved into the evening time slot and there are some exciting things about to happen!!!

Here is an in Game Updates.......

It is now the evening of the Queen's jubilee.  The royal court is heading back to the castle, the princess though is visiting the people with a local farmer.  Lord Godwyn had an unsettling encounter with a Welshmen at a public establishment within Righteous.

King Edgar it is rumored is about a 1/2 day away from returning and that may turn the tide favorable to the Saxon Kingdom.  The Prince, Olis, was off in The Kingdom of Northumbria, where's he was unable to gain the aide they were looking for.  The King there distrustful of the position Righteous is putting themselves in.

Think of The Kingdom of Righteous as Wessex, it is what it is closely based on.

The Saxon's still have one of the Northmen in their prison.  And during the jubilee the royal court showed off their capture.

Back to the Welshmen that entered to story, he has left the Saxon's Kingdom but not before stirring the emotions of the locals.  All had wished he'd stayed.  The locals are chatting about what they should or shouldn't be doing.  Nerves are pretty high as they all feel an attack by the Norse is eminent.

Over at the Northman's camp their newly stated Volva is preparing the rituals before they go off to rescue their captive brethren, Tam.  The Jarl has given an official declaration as to who his second in command is, another fellow warrior who worked for his father.  Another character has begun to secure the Norse camp some trade routes.  There is another warrior planning to speak to the Jarl about taking one of the shield maidens as his wife.

And in the far distance though no one can yet see it, their are more boats coming from the North, family and friends ready to step foot on the new lands.

Both sides are coming to terms with what lies ahead.
*********************

The game could use a Norse boat builder/carpenter who came over with the settling party.  We could also use weavers, brewers, fishermen, sheep herders, etc.

Saxon's could use groomsmen, Thegans, castle staff, etc.

Come and get caught up in a deadly game of politics, power, and espionage.

Suddenly, simple contracts of marriage can become a deadly happenstance. Strange things are happening on the shores of our Saxon Kingdom, the King is rushing back to his lands, the prince sent to the north to gain favor with a King in the lands we now call Scotland.  The Princess finds herself in a compromised position.  The Jarl is torn in his decision to make peace or move forward and fight.  But his Norse clansmen are coming together and they are ready to defend their newly taken lands to the death if necessary.

As forces for both King Edgar and the Norse Jarl Erland build towards a battle that will decide the future of the world as we know it today, our everyday characters try to survive.

Come and join a world where the politics of rival men vying for control can and will alter the fortunes of nations not yet born.

Fear not death for the hour of your doom is set and none may escape it.

We are very deep into the evening time slot in which the Norse are looking to reclaim their taken man.

Here is an in Game Updates.......

It is now the evening of the Queen's jubilee.  The royal court is in the Great Hall about to enjoy the evening fest.  Music and dancing are accompanied by quite conversations about the Northmen.

King Edgar is due back to the Saxon Kingdom of Righteous (loosely based on Wessex) by morning.  A band of Saxon villagers is hoping to catch up with the King's traveling party before he makes it to the castle, in hopes of giving him the assessment they feel he will not receive once at court.  The Prince, Olis, was off in The Kingdom of Northumbria, where's he was unable to gain the aide they were looking for.  The King there distrustful of the position Righteous is putting themselves in.

The Saxon's still have one of the Northmen in their prison.  And during the jubilee the royal court showed off their capture.

The locals are sitting in the tavern chatting about what they should or shouldn't be doing to protect themselves from the next raid.  Nerves are pretty high as they all feel an attack by the Norse is eminent.

Over at the Northman's camp the Volva completed the ritual and the four Norse are off to rescue their captive brethren, Tam.

And in the far distance though no one can yet see it, their are more boats coming from the North, family and friends ready to step foot on the new lands.

The game is on the cusp of a new day and another boat of Northmen is about to dock on the shores of Righteous.

So many possibilities and opportunities for the adventure so do please check us out.  See what madness you can spin!

We cannot wait to see you there!

Come join our deadly game of politics, power, and espionage

Hello all.

We are looking for some new players.

This is a medieval slice of life (loosely based historical) free-form adult RPG. The plot surrounds two Kingdoms one fighting for its right to claim and forge a new life in (and on) new lands and the other trying to keep its control, keep its lands and be free from raids.

We are looking for all types of characters but some we can always use... Norse (Vikings) a Blacksmith.  As for the Saxon side it is the same, guards, blacksmith, monk, etc.

Please PM me to discuss.

Come join our deadly game of politics, power, and espionage

Update:  08/22/2022

We've just started a time skip, perfect timing for new players!

We are looking for all types in the experience department, beginner, intermediate, and experienced.  All are welcome as for the type of characters, I'll stress we need more "everyday folk" the ones most affected when those in power shift.

By everyday folk we mean stable masters (Saxon side), stable hands (both Norse & Saxon), farmers, herders, fishermen, beggars, guards, hunters etc.

This story is telling your characters tale, how they survive in everyday life in the 9th Century.

PM me for more details as to the story thus far, I'd be happy to share.

In reply to Lauriebear (msg # 46):

Hello Lauriebear
I'm interested in joining on the Saxon Side as a Stablehand or Hunter. I've been table top roleplaying for longer than I care to admit (think decades) but this type of roleplaying is new to me. If there is any background you could send me on events thus far and how it all works that would be great.

Cheers

Greg
