This is an urban fantasy game focusing on humans, mythological creatures and other various beings living in the city of New Genesis. Futuristic, rather than contemporary, this game takes place in the year 4022. While it does take place on a planet called Earth, it's not the Earth you know- there are plenty of differences, whether it be the people or the timeline.
TL;DR? Skip to the bottom and read the summary!
Game Introduction:
Welcome to New Genesis- a high tech city built on the blood, sweat and tears of man and god alike. It is a city of arcane and technological wonders, built as a peaceful oasis in a war torn world. The world outside New Genesis is a wasteland- difficult to live off of and even more difficult to survive in.
While humanity wars with the gods out in the dark, you have been drawn to a light, to a beacon... a second chance at life. You have been drawn to a city, an oasis in that war torn wasteland, and something you haven't felt in a long time sparks deep down in your chest. Hope.
If you're lucky, you'll be granted a new life in the city, where the Guard has offered residents protection from the outside world, from the war and strife. From the whirlwind of chaos that has destroyed the place you once called home.
If you are granted asylum, refuge from a war that would inevitably lead to your death outside the city's walls, what will you do with your second chance?
Will you start over, and try to be a better person? Will you continue on as you always have? Will you become a contender in the Arena that you've heard so much about, fighting to earn the cash you need to get by?
And if your request for asylum is denied, what will you do then? Will you attempt to sneak into the city and live under the radar? How will you survive?
It's all up to you.
Are you an alien visiting this war torn planet because, despite the chaos, it's better than returning home? Are you a veteran of the war, seeking a peaceful retirement? Are you an unknowing citizen of another dimension, who was dragged kicking and screaming through a rift, ending up stuck with no way to get home?
It doesn't matter who you were or where you came from. Everyone gets a fresh start in New Genesis.
Summary
This game takes place in the year 4022, in the futuristic city of New Genesis. While there is a war waging between technologically advanced humans and monstrosities from various mythologies in the background, the city seems to be the only peaceful and safe place left in that wretched wasteland of a world that was once vibrant and beautiful.
People fleeing the war find themselves drawn, in some way or another, to the city's walls, where they may apply for sanctuary. Maybe they're drawn by magic, or perhaps its simple interest or intellect that sends them in its direction. No one has been able to give a solid answer to that question.
Create a character, explore the city, make friends or enemies, thrive or wither. Follow plot lines, or strike out on your own. It's all up to you to decide how you live your life in New Genesis.
This game, while it certainly has its own flare and allure, as well as its own story arcs, is inspired by and has elements of various fictional universes such as Persons of Interest, Altered Carbon, The Good Place and several others. We're looking for a strong cast of writers, and we'd love to discuss your ideas regarding character concepts and plot lines. Feel free to contact us in-game via a request access thread, if you have any questions!

DISCLAIMER: This is a free-form game, meaning that there will be no dice rolling or general system that the players have to adhere to. The GM(s) may roll dice behind the scenes, from time to time, to determine the outcome of a certain event, but that will not be something the players have to participate in. Likewise, there will be an overarching pre-made plot, but the majority of the game will be player led. I, and any other GM(s) that may join in the future, will not lead your character by the nose. If you're looking for a game that is heavily GM centric, this is not the game for you. That being said, I will be writing as some NPC's that are important to the plot here and there and will be offering plot hooks, but you will need to be able to write your own story and interact with the other characters on your own for the most part. Do not expect to rely on the GM(s) for everything, we have lives as well and our time is limited, as is the case with most of you.
