Re: Finished for tonight

I'm greatly looking forward to seeing how Iminye, Amira and Aisha all maneuver their way through this.

Re: Finished for tonight

I haven't been reading other threads on purpose. Amira I think is the furthest behind in knowing what the heck is going on. Also, she's not from around your crazy 'political lands' If only this was Tivaris things would be so much easier.

Also, I can't completely remember everything from 3+ years ago. I'll have to review it all and see if Amira really is as oblivious to all the pieces as I am currently. (Like, I remember bits, but not enough concrete stuff)

Re: Finished for tonight

You pretty much got most of it right from the vantage point of someone in Amira's shoes -- except that it was Iminye's cousin, half-Shal Ned Foster, who was the murder victim.  Daris got accused by Iminye because Iminye wanted to know who might have a reason to go after Ned, and Daris didn't want to give up that Daris's (and Damiano's) half-brother Theo was the one who found the body.

But for the most part, the way you described it is an appropriate way for Amira to have interpreted things.

I did remember the name at least. Totally couldn't remember the relation off the top of my head though.

Goose Dinner

The bourbon cranberry sauce is cooling.

The butternut squash soup (as modified to make the base soup vegan to accommodate dietary restrictions of guests) is simmering.

The wild rice for the wild rice, apple and dried cranberry stuffing is  on the stove-top.

Balsamic roasted root vegetables are in the oven, finishing up.  (No recipe link for this one -- it's just "whatever root vegetables you fancy/have available, tossed in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, whole garlic cloves, thyme, salt and pepper, roasted until tender").  Forgot the turnips, though.

Re: Goose Dinner

Frankly, I considered roasting the turnips separately and then stirring them in.  But I'm not motivated enough.

I salivate and chastise myself for my jealousy. Meal sounds lovely. Squash soup is delightful. I'm totally stealing the stuffing recipe and the bourbon cranberry sauce too...yum!

Re: Goose Dinner

I ended up adding the turnips with other root vegetables to one of the roasting pans with a goose.

We have so much food left over.

Apologies for not posting today; slowness on the Internet connection earlier in the evening, and then a game of Cards Against Humanity, kept me from getting to it.

I will be posting tomorrow after dropping our guest off at the airport.

No and no.

I amend.  Yes, there are "broadsheets."  There are not printing presses.
