Finished for tonight

Priorities tomorrow are:

  • Donato's thread, where the heroes are in mid-fight with an enraged but badly injured troll.

Will also respond to Garflin's thread even absent a response from all the other PCs as I know they don't necessarily have anything to say/do (except maybe Konrad) other than watch (Liss) or cackle (Anansi).  Every other thread needs PC input before I can respond again.

I will also post the anticipated schedule for next week -- as a head's up, due to a business trip in the first part of the week to lovely downtown Madison, Wisconsin and then the Christmas holiday followed by our annual family Goose Dinner on the 27th (all y'all are invited!), posting is anticipated to be light next week.

And for those as haven't seen it yet -- latest post in the GM Announcement thread has a link to the new Tell the GM survey.

Random rolls asked for

Who wants to make the attack rolls for Donato, whose player is otherwise occupied but who doesn't want to leave his comrades without his support in fighting the cranky troll?

He has two weapon fighting, so ..

  • Rapier +14 for d6+12 (crit 18/x2) and
  • Kukri +14 for d4+10 (crit 15/x2)

Re: Random rolls asked for

OK, he definitely hit with his Kukri and did a critical.  You'll have to check on the rapier.

16:49, Today: Tandro Rynell rolled 23,32 using d20+14,d20+14 with rolls of 9,18. Donato Attacks.

16:50, Today: Tandro Rynell rolled 26 using 1d20+14 with rolls of 12. Confirm Crit for Donato's Kukri.

16:52, Today: Tandro Rynell rolled 16 (Rapier if it hit),27 using d6+12,2d4+20 with rolls of 4,4,3. Damage for Donato.

Finished for tonight

I have to go pack for my trip tomorrow.  Priorities tomorrow (after I get to the hotel, finish my meeting with the witness), if any are:

  • Aeroc
  • Tandro
  • Mobley
  • Valan (if I make it this far, and even if Maldavos hasn't posted)

For other threads, I await input from other players.

'Night, all.

Re: Finished for tonight

Is it just me or does anyone else find the complete lack of "Arrow" spells in the ranger spell list odd? No Flame Arrow. No Acid Arrow. Nothing. *:(

Yes...arrows spells should be an appropriate part of the ranger repertoire. Arrow Mind and Arrow Storm from the Spell Compendium are pretty sad replacements for the poor rangers.

Yes. Rangers lost a lot of their flavor between AD&D and the current versions.

Re: Finished for tonight

If it was me, I'd give them a spell list that reflected their combat focus.

Like if you wield a melee weapon, have Magic weapon, flame sword, etc. A bow, then the above. Maybe even something like the Magus's arcane pool ability would make sense. Maybe make the Ranger expend a spell to power the enhancements.

Just my two cents.

Ah well. . .

Done for the night.  As noted in the Posting Schedule, I do not intend to post at all tomorrow, but I will probably check in on my phone while en route home.

Re: Finished for tonight

Love the graphic, Aisha.

I'm finished for tonight -- not much energy after getting in at 3:00 a.m. this morning, then running around all day for last minute gift-shopping.  Not to mention the head cold from hell.

I'll probably hit a few threads tomorrow, but not all of them that are ready for me.  Priorities for tomorrow are in this order (don't know how many I'll actually get to):

  • Gabhran et al.
  • Jonathan/Tara
  • Tandro
  • Mobley
  • Donato, et al.
  • Amira, et al.

Re: Finished for tonight

So for those of you who celebrate (secularly or otherwise) the Christmas holiday -- how's it going?

We had a lovely time at my father-in-law's yesterday.  This morning, the Boy woke us up at 7:00, unable to wait any longer.  The kids seemed to be pleased with what they got (which included Johnny Cash CDs -- what can I say, they have good musical taste) and since then the spouse and I have been intermittently cleaning in advance of our first guest arriving tomorrow and then Goose Dinner on Saturday.  This would be an easier process if we were neater people by nature.

Good taste in music indeed.

I'm trying to get EA to take my money and generally slacking off until it's time to assemble for ye olde Christmas Family Dinner.

I was very lucky and didn't have to work today last minute. Gob and I spent the day gaming together and tonight we go to his Grandmothers for dinner (she insisted. I think it'll be quite nice)

Dear God these are annoying colors. . .

Anyway, Merry Blessed Birth Day.

Since you asked, it's been tough with my mumma and dad gone, but I've muscled through it.

I can only imagine, Garflin.

As for the colors, for some reason mine don't seem to have changed.  I have the holiday banner at the upper left, but I have my usual color scheme.

I've heard there's a way to stop the color changes, but I have yet to figure it out.

Re: Finished for tonight

Instant poll:

When you wake up at 1:30 a.m. and give up on going back to sleep at 3:00 a.m. -- is it too sad to bake some break-and-bake Nestle Toll House cookies and eat them all before the rest of the family wakes up?

P.S.  The survey is active only until January 2nd.  So far I have responses from about 2/3 of the players.  It's an easy 1000 XP for each PC you run.    If you want the XP, but haven't yet responded (you'll see at least one of your PCs named in the private line below), go here:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TYYVPTX

Re: Finished for tonight

Seems strange to be posting this at 5:00 a.m., but finished for the day I think -- we'll be cleaning and starting the cooking for the family dinner tomorrow, and picking up a guest from the airport.

I'll be back on Sunday for some posting (though likely not all threads that will be ready).  Priorities then will be:

  • Bell
  • Valan

Christmas was great! Nieces and nephews aplenty to keep the magic alive --it's just not the same when it's grown-ups-only party.

Now it's back to work, and hopefully catch up on all my threads. And hit the survey --right now.

 Joyful holidays to you all!

Great post Amira.  It had me laughing at some parts and wondering what you will really find out in the end of all this.
