I apologize if this isn't the right forum, but I think it falls under RPoL development.

Would it be possible for the discord server link to be part of the front page somewhere?  It would likely draw more players into joining the discord.  Not everyone peruses the off-site forum, and older players who've left but visit from time to time might not see the link there, but would see it on the main page.

I second this notion. It's a great notification tool and community resource.

I also run the Facebook Unofficial Fangroup...  that might be useful to have a primary link for Facebookers who avoid Discord as much as I avoid it (not that I Facebook, but I recognize it's utility).

My understanding was that these groups were not officially sanctioned, or run by RPoL, but permissible as fan-run interest sites. Wouldn't putting them on the front page suggest otherwise? Not that there isn't utility in it, but maybe that's not the best way to go about it. Maybe a new Forum for unofficial links to social media groups dedicated to RPoL would be less official without being lost in the ether? That is, because per my understanding, it's not really off-site gaming that these are going to be used for as much as community building.

Per Shannara's Post: link to a message in another game about it, it's Semi-official and experimental, and anything like this is more useful if it's more visible and accessible to people.

The Facebook page is unofficial.  The Discord server is semi-official: it's run by RPoL admins (okay maybe just Shannara?), it's just not policed 24/7.

As Flarelord says, it would become more useful with more visibility.

I can understand them not wanting to delve into Facebook.  You give away loads of information (at least compared to what Discord asks) to join, and there's a scandal every other week it seems. (my country is about to give Zuck the frowning of a lifetime and a sternly worded letter for ignoring their summonses to a committee xD)

Given the types of problems that led to their creation and/or recent discussion, the front page is the only real place with a point to having them since threads beyond the first page might not be reachable in which case no one coukd get to them unless they already had the links anyway.

That said, it also means that not putting on the front page means that it is nearly pointless to anything special with them at all. Just make a cc or resources thread and update it with new links.

If the link is on the front page, it will show up in cached versions of the front page in Google.  Which you can always get at, even if RPoL is down.

The chat link on the main menu now goes to the Discord server.  Will make a proper embedded page when we get access to it.
