sub threads

I apologize if this has already been asked and/or answered elsewhere.

I'm finding some instances in which it would be great to have subthreads.

Example:  a location thread, a place with multiple floors, have a single thread for the place, and a subthread for each floor.

I'm aware that this could be handled simply via threads, but subthreads would keep this neater and more organized (to me).

Re: sub threads

Planned for a future release, but not at this stage I'm afraid.

Re: sub threads

This is a lonnnng dead thread, but..

This is still something that bugs me in my games. When a game thread splits for location, timing, etc,  but will come back together. I’m forced to awkwardly keep the thread singular, which I don’t like, or split into a new thread. If a thread could have a sub thread, that can be expanded/collapsed I would love it. I’d even settle for sub forums to move the off shoot to. I realize that can be simulated with PMs

I don’t know what kind of wizardry that takes when you’ve built things up from the ground, but I do know other sites have that option in some form or another.

Re: sub threads

I always add a locations locator thread that has links to all the in game location threads. This serves two purposes:

1. You can group similar locations under different headings.

2. People don't have to scroll through four pages of threads to find the right location.

Re: sub threads

Something I like to do is put a link to the new thread int he old thread when a split occurs and then another link when the threads remerge.  That makes it easier when reading through to know when to change threads to follow the actions of specific Characters or NPCs.

Re: sub threads

I do that too, evileeyore. It does help; especially now that I know how to link to specific posts. But I hate how cluttered my game can get with all the extra threads. So I end up dumping the clutter into single posts back in the main thread and eventually pulling off the site entirely.

Anywho... sub threads, or sub forums would make me joyful. That and being able to create wiki pages from the game directly, but that’s a different topic :)
