Exalted 2e The Alchemicals

Interested in an Alchemical game!

For those who are knowledgeable in such, the Alchemicals are the Chosen of the Great Maker and exist in a realm entirely outside of Creation. Although outside of Creation, the Great Maker, the mortals, and his chosen that exist within his body have their share of problems.

I would love to explore these problems and perhaps be on the beachhead of an expedition into Creation proper (Breaching the Seal of 8 Divinities).

Welcome to Wanted-GM's or as I like to call it, hopeless people screaming impotently into the void. Also the name of the Soulsteel Alchemical I would play in a future game.

I might get around to running an Autochthonia game again. My problem is that the setting put all this work into building these cultures and then made the playable character live completely outside of it. That's why I have like 4 games in the "Work on these eventually" pile that are Autochthonia, but non-alchemical or system swapped

I'd be up to it under a few conditions.

You need to be alright with these conditions. If you are, I'll open a game to workshop from.
  • I've never read the Alchemicals books cover to cover. I will do so while you (or other players) are working on on your characters. Despite my best efforts, I may make (unintentional) changes to canon based on lack of knowledge.
    • I've also just this month received the Compass of Autochthonia. So I've read some of it, but haven't read it all yet. See above. I'll read it as I can, but may make changes.
  • I'm not thoroughly familiar with the exact nature of the 8th seal. Please help me make this fun, and not just work. You can do that by providing books and page numbers to the eighth seal--and any other citations to think would be critical for me to read. Edit: I'm looking for any location information; and visual, magical, or metaphysical properties that are listed. I am perfectly fine, if everyone else is, to fashion the specifics of the Seals of Divinity. I've just never ran an Alchemical centric game, and so wanted to capture whatever I can of the setting, people here probably know more than I.
  • If and when the Eighth Seal is broken, the group will have to contend (among other things) with decommissioning a manse. Otherwise what charms are installed are probably what you'll have on that particular story.
  • Posting (for me) be no more than thrice a week, with occasions of only posting one day in two weeks, but having multiple posts made when I do. The mean (average) will be about twice a week; which in social combat is easier, but in mass or single combat will prolong the scene. I'll do my best to make it tight, but RL constraints can make such scenes last over a RL month. I've had good luck with most first combats, and been able to finish them inside three weeks. The second combats have sometimes taken around six weeks. Partially due to player posting as well.


If this is acceptable, I'm keen to have a story or two in Autochthonia, and will take suggestions on the nature of that; eliminating gremlins, disciplining rebels, siding with nations to settle war, Et cetera.

The genre of the game will be styles remix; preferably “And I’ll Form the Head!” with a minor in "Outlander".

Fine by me.

Seal of 8 Divinities is actually pretty easy to explain. It is what seals Authochthonia off from Creation. It is powered by GM Fiat and cannot be affected by players in any conceivable way.

It can/will be broken at a narratively appropriate time in a narratively convenient way. The details of that breaks it, how it breaks, and what the true effects of that are is also purely GM Fiat based and narratively in/convenient.

I'm sure I can find the pages some where.

Yeah, I'd appreciate any information you can share! I was looking more for the applicability, appearance, or really anything that's lending to the verisimilitude of the world transfer. Many narrative devices are up to the ST, I just want to include enough to feel substantial and grounded.

It very well may be one paragraph, or just a sidebar. If so, great! I just want the journey to feel rooted in what's presented already. :)

I am eager to play an Alchemical Exalted, be it within Authchthon or within the walls of Creation (though that will change the character build). Character crafting/building is forbidden in a Wanted: GM thread. I have read the Alchemicals book and Compass book as well, though it has been long and long since I've actually played Exalted but I'm happy to help out with any questions.

Quick Edit: This is a mature game; but can be toned down to general if desired. I forgot this on the first pass. Glad I caught it before the mods.

For razorbackyak's purpose, I've left a link to the game proper. If he should decline the offer, I won't flood his thread with further discussion.

sadly the GM above had to cancel the game due to rl issues, so we are still waiting ^_^
