I've got a warlock that I'm looking to play.  Will multi-class 2 levels in to Paladin, but otherwise stick with Hexblade.  He is a Human (Variant), with the concept of Monster Hunter.  Made with Point Buy.  He is starting at 1st. level.

How does a warlock become a paladin? Wouldn't any deity object to having a champion whose soul is spoken for to another less-than-stellar entity?

5e Paladins don't get their Oath till 3rd. level.  So, stopping at 2nd. level avoids serving two masters.
