Hi, completely novice player here, my most experience with d&d is one 5e starter set which I have only tried to gm once ( but don't have players interested ). I hope I can find some slower paced games with gm who will teach me the ropes of the trade. I also would not be opposed to conarrating a story ( basically no rules and story just goes on paragraph by paragraph, or with players responsible for character dialogue and actions) Apart from that I love games and been gaming a lot when I was younger in single-player RPG genere( I also have this bit of experience playing neverwinter nights 2 but it translates badly to true rpgs since most rules are enforced by PC )

howdy, you came to the right place.

best site out there..everything in one place, once you get used to your  Main Menu, you can  do anything, run games, play games  ect...

Use   'players  wanted ' thread to find games  GMs/DMs  post... and you can use the search engine at the lower  middle of the  main menu...when you clikc on it, it will give you dorections to check boxes, loking for games of your interest and  need players.

there are all manner of   games sytems here, as  well as free form and semi-free form.

don't be afraid to ask questions..players and  Admins will answer

 have fun!

Welcome to RPol my friend, you'll find anything you want here and so many great games from freeform to about any system game you like.  It is easy to be a GM or a Player here. As Donsr said there is so much to find here and if you have any questions please donít be afraid to ask any one as we were all beginners at one time.

A few tips for you are below:-

Make sure you turn on your rmail by going to the link at the top that is User preferences, there you will find some settings to play around with including the rmail one as that is how you and most GMs can talk.

On the main menu there are two forums you can find what you want to play in

Wanted: players At the top there is a link that is 'Search Games' and when you click on those words it gives you a more distinct search area for what you are looking for.

Wanted: GMs where you can make a post describing the type of games you are looking for and GMs check there for new players sometimes.

At the bottom of the main menu you will also find search link to find games and other good stuff.

So all I can say now is
