I've bene RPing via the internet since about 2000, but never PbP/PbF... Typically it was World of Darkness (old and new) themed MU*s, with a few here and there that were more freeform. Actually started out on the Yahoo! chats when they did RP in the (word escapes me) rooms. So, thought I'd say hey as I get myself acquainted with this particular medium. Any suggestions on where/how to start? I haven't RPed in general in about five years, so feeling kind of like I'm starting totally over. | |||
if you want to run a game, i suggest playign in one first , to get used to the board....if you want to play, check out the 'wanted players' thread...GMs can bump thier adds once every 7 days. all the stuff you need for this site is on the main page, you don't have to sift/guess your way through a messy page to find where you're going. Games you run and Play in, will be on the main page , as well as all the forum pages..also? Never feel bad about asking questions..Player and Admins will answer. | |||
A few tips for you to refresh your memoryare below:- Make sure you turn on your rmail by going to the link at the top that is User preferences, there you will find some settings to play around with including the rmail one as that is how you and most GMs can talk. On the main menu there are two forums you can find what you want to play in Wanted: players At the top there is a link that is 'Search Games' and when you click on those words it gives you a more distinct search area for what you are looking for. Wanted: GMs where you can make a post describing the type of games you are looking for and GMs check there for new players sometimes. At the bottom of the main menu you will also find search link to find games and other good stuff. So all I can say now is HAPPY GAMING!!
