Hello everyone!

Hi! I´m new here, although not new to RPing. Hoping to have a great time with you guys :)

Question: is it me, or all the games in "Players Wanted" are adult games? Nothing against that, it's just that as a new user apparently I can't join them until some time passes, apparently. Where are all the other games? :D

Hello everyone!

Actually, adult games aren't the norm here. You have just been unlucky enough to click on then after players of adult games have bumped their ads :D

Hello everyone!

::chuckles:: Yep , Starchaser has the right of it... There are som e GMs  that label thiers  'adult', to keep munchins out, ot to  have   certain RP.

I use  'Mature"..becaus epeople get killed, eaten, die  ect ect, so you should be able  to  get in 'regular games'  and Mature...if you have     an age  issue, stay away from the Adult games, because  the  Admins  are kinda  struct on  that ( from boths  sides!)

Hello everyone!

In reply to donsr (msg # 3):

Not so much an age issue (I wish!) as that my account needs to be 2 weeks old to qualify, but thanks for the clarification :) Any good, non-adult games you'd recommend?

Hello everyone!

everyone has thier own tastes? Some prefer standard  games ( such as D&D  and other   published systems)  some like free form.

over the  many, many years here, I made my own system and have a 'semi-freeform' game that has  frame work and such, but  the rules  are  simple, yet playable.

I always look for active  games, and games where the DM/GMs  aren't too anal on how they want you to post...

look for the genre  you prefer, ( either skim the  'players wanted' daily, or use the   'game search' on the main page)

Hello everyone!

Heya there and welcome to RPol, you'll find anything you want here and so many great games from freeform to about any system game you like.  I am one of those crazy people who only run freeform games but most GMs here will be glad to help you learn system games as well.  Your choices are vast and varied.

Most GMs only check those ad threads once a week or even less for some so you will get sadly missed.  Either clicking on the game link or rmailing them is the best way to let them know you are interested. :)

A few tips for you are below:-

Make sure you turn on your rmail by going to the link at the top that is User preferences, there you will find some settings to play around with including the rmail one as that is how you and most GMs can talk.

On the main menu there are two forums you can find what you want to play in

Wanted: players At the top there is a link that is 'Search Games' and when you click on those words it gives you a more distinct search area for what you are looking for.

Wanted: GMs where you can make a post describing the type of games you are looking for and GMs check there for new players sometimes.

At the bottom of the main menu you will also find search link to find games and other good stuff.

So all I can say now is

HAPPY GAMING!!

Hello everyone!

In reply to InQueli (msg # 4):

We can really only steer you in very general directions, as it's against site policy to promote, advertise, etc games outside of the forums set up expressly for that purpose.  We can tell you, for instance, to go look through Wanted:Players (which you seem to have already done, based on the question you asked), or provide some pointers on narrowing your search from the main screen, but we can't give you names of specific games here (thanks to people early in the site's history who would spam any and every forum they could find to try and get players to come join their game...)

That sounds reasonable as an anti-spam measure. And thanks for letting me know, lest I pester you with requests for (illegal) recommendations :D

Hello everyone!

The Search on the main screen and in Wanted Players is very detailed and easy to use.  You can put in systems, genre', and search by game names or GMs.  I advise that these three places will get you started and a feel of the place.
