Tech Help:Samsung Flat-screen Issue

Hi RPOL. I've tried looking on tech help forums for this but I couldn't find the issue exactly so I figured RPOL people might be able to help. I've had a tv for a few months that has been working well. But in the last three months or so it displays a large watermark that shows that is a Samsung Product, that it has a color enhancer and a share movie feature and there is an HDMI logo under it. Also, it keeps jumping from the upper-left hand corner to the upper-right very quickly but seemingly at random. Even if I don't press anything. Does anyone know how to get rid of this watermark? Thank you.

If it's a smart TV, reset it to factory settings.

If not, call a shop, probably.

Tech Help:Samsung Flat-screen Issue

In reply to HEarlPendelfield (msg # 3):

Yes it is.  But the remote for the TV doesn't work. Even with fresh batteries. So I'll look at how to do it with the TV controls.                                     @tmagann: I'll try that too. Thank you.

I would try unplugging it for a minute to see if that triggers a reset. It sounds like it is in In-Store mode.

Dr Google suggests:

To turn off demo mode without the remote, press the volume button on the TV and press the Menu button for 15 to 20 seconds afterward.

I'll rMail you the link as the page I found has some more detailed instructions and other suggestions.  ;>

Tech Help:Samsung Flat-screen Issue

I am of no help but to say I share your frustration. I have an HG TV that was in, what I eventually found out, was display mode. My problem was that factory reset didn't fix it, it made it worse because that was what it was set to for floor panels, so you could see it in stores. Somehow in the brightness of the HG minds, they thought to patch it, in box. So when I reset it, I had to patch it, just to get it how it was in box, and THEN go into nine menus deep, and hold a button combination like it was Konami code, to unlock the full system information. Now that I know that, I know HOW it occurred, but for the life of me would take two hours to fix if it happened again.

I hope the link helped. If not, I hope you can get some remedy, especially if the TV is a daily device.

Tech Help:Samsung Flat-screen Issue

Thank you for all your guy's advice. Sorry I haven't gotten back, had a medical issue and work but I'm better now. But I'm afraid none of it has worked yet and I also can't get my ps3 to work on this tv either, though the ps-classic I have works just like before. If you've faced a similar issue do you know how to solve that as well? I'll try again with your input but if this doesn't work I'll have to ask someone professionally I think, (the tv came with the apartment so I don't want to buy one and have to find storage for this old/fragile flatscreen). Thanks and hope it won't come to that.

Another thought I had, but it's a bit of a longshot ... if you have a Samsung phone you may be able to use the SmartThings app to use it as a remote with the Samsung TV.

Good luck anyway !  ;>
