Systems For Police Games

I was wondering what systems were out there for police games that people here knew of/could recommend. Not exclusively detective games, mind, but also for less-explored sides of law enforcement: anti-gang and drug units, beat cops, undercover work, etc. The only one I could think of when a friend asked me was GURPS, but I'm certain there's others somewhere.

Night Witches.

Lol! You and I have been there, already. ;)

One of the members of my RL group asked. He's always had a fascination with law enforcement, but it made me realize that I can't think of any TTRPGs focused around it.

Re: Systems For Police Games

There's one called Police Cops.  Seems to be based on cop movie stereotypes.

From the Introduction:
The loose cannon, fish-outta-water with nothing to lose; the strait-laced stickler who never met a rulebook he didn’t love; the neurotic, maybe-autistic, with an uncanny ability to link clues together; the plucky goth kid, who can use computers for things they were never designed for; and the old guy who’s been on the job longer than anybody, and knows his way around an interrogation room. You’re Police Cops and you’re on the case.

Re: Systems For Police Games

There was an old d20 OGL series called Crime Scene. In addition to a standard "cops" book, there was one for federal agents, forensics, organized crime, Hong Kong police, and small-town sheriffs.

Re: Systems For Police Games

There were two books for Gurps 3rd edition - Cops and Swat.  Cops was extremely good if now a bit dated.

Re: Systems For Police Games

Of look at the gumshoe rules they have a very good investigation mechanic not sure if the genetic rules are out but you could look at nights black agents or mutant city blues. The first has vampires the last is a cop setting with super powers you could just drop the supernatural / super powers

Re: Systems For Police Games

This makes me think about TSR Gangbusters...

Is a very old game, though I Heard there have been reeditions. Not thatI liked too much when I played it (too much time ago), but it's about the asked for theme...
