Dune: House Maccabees
"Religion often partakes of the myth of progress that shields us from the terrors of an uncertain future. Men, finding no answers to the sunnah, now apply their own reasoning. All men seek to be enlightened. Religion is but the most ancient and honorable way in which men have striven to make sense out of God's universe. Scientists seek the lawfulness of events. It is the task of Religion to fit man into this lawfulness."

Dune: House Maccabees is a campaign set in the vast science-fiction universe created by Frank Herbert and expanded upon by his son Brian. It uses the 2D20 System as described in Dune: Adventures In The Imperium and its supplements. It is roughly contemporaneous with the Prelude To Dune prequels, taking place just over a generation before the events of Dune. Lady Salome Alexandra, wife and successor to the late Lord Herod Maccabees, presides over a House awash in factional politics and intrigue, and the balance of power could be subject to sudden, opportunistic change both in- and outside its precincts.
