'Lucky' Jack Ravencrest - background - ‘Lucky’ Jack is the sole survivor of the Battle of Zengis where his platoon, the Stonebridge Rude Boys were massacred by a band of Orcs led but Grushnut One-Eye the Great and Terrible. He is also the sole survivor of the March of Skulls, the flight from the Snakelands to Salmonis led by the now dead General Arbales of the First Salmonis Regiment of Foot, where 2000 men perished in the harsh desert as they fled the wrath of the Serpent Men.
When he survived the sinking of the Fourth Fleet of Blacksand off the coast of Blood Island by the Pirate King Corwyn Terrorwind he thought his luck had changed, four men clung to a narrow raft, set adrift on the ocean. Sadly as time passed one went mad from salt water and leapt to his death in the sea, one died from wounds in the battle and one other, Raymond the Cursed nearly made it to safety, unfortunately succumbing to a head wound he sustained when struck by an oar of the rescue ship.
‘Lucky’ Jack is a comfort to the party, after all , surely his luck will change and an expedition must be doomed to success?
