Browser Tab Name not updating

I've just noticed that sometimes when I do a reply, the Tab browser still shows the last state instead 'View RPoL: xxx' instead of 'Reply RPoL: xxx', Doing a refresh, or trying again doesn't fix for that. As a GM, this is a bigger issue since usually I need to jump between tabs to collate data for an update post and not having the tab differentiated as the REPLY in a sea of view slows the process.

Browser Tab Name not updating

This seems to relate to the new "inline" reply function (which was previously only on the responsive site), where hitting "post a reply" opens the message window at the bottom of the same page, rather than loading a new page with the text box at the top followed by the five most recent posts in reverse chronological order. If you load the thread, shut off internet access, and press "post a reply", the text box will still open normally, which shows that nothing new is being loaded, so as far as the browser is concerned, there's nothing to update.

A workaround is to select the posting character, type at least two characters into the text box, and hit "preview", which will take you to the original reverse-chronology view and display "Reply RPoL" on the tab as desired.

Obviously that's not ideal, but since it's part of the new site layout, I very much doubt that it will be changing back.

Browser Tab Name not updating

I'll second that !  :>

Technically you're still in View mode as the original View screen is still very much operational - you can click on a different page or even All and it'll respond accordingly (though that will close the reply area and you'll have to open it again).  Once you hit Preview then that's a different ball game, you're fully committed to the Reply and can only see the last five posts.

Another workaround (if on Desktop) would be to open the reply in a new window to completely separate it from all the browsed pages, then just ALT-TAB to toggle between the two sessions.  I find that a lot easier anyway, though your mileage may differ.

Browser Tab Name not updating

Clicking the post a reply button or reply from a given post has the same behavior. If I tell it to open in a new tab then I get the correct behavior of seeing 'Reply RPoL'. Annoying, but glad to know a work-around exists!

Thanks guys. I do hope this is fixed in the future.

In reply to Skald (msg # 3):

Aha. That's a much better workaround. I hadn't tried that, but then I'm less concerned about what is displayed on the tab. All the more reason to have the middle/mouse-wheel button configured to open a link in a new tab.
