RPoL Dice Roller - System-Specific Options

In my muddling around with the dice roller, I developed a table for what code invoked a roll from which system.  In the course of doing this, I find several options that do not have codes associated with them (at least not that I could find), and at least one code that doesn't seem to work:

System Code     Game System
==========================================================================================

                Full Light/Full Steam
hackap          Hackmaster Basic, Advanced Penetration doesn't seem to work
                Hackmaster Basic, Advanced Backstab
                Hero, 5th Edition, Killing Attack
                Hero, 5th Edition, Killing Attack

Is there some way to determine what system code is associated with the name of a system? (I found most of the Game Systems out the hard way, by putting their system code in a link, then examining the output of the link in the dice roller.  What I'm wondering is if there's a way to do it in reverse - choose the game system in the drop-down and somehow see the system code associated with it.)

Any insights as to how this might be done, or what the correct system codes are for the above systems, will be appreciated.

RPoL Dice Roller - System-Specific Options

In the Help, there is a list of supported codes that can be used to specify a roll.  /help/?t=help&page=diceroller

Other than using that list, in conjunction with the dice roller's down drop own list of supported systems, there is no other way to find the codes.

RPoL Dice Roller - System-Specific Options

In reply to bigbadron (msg # 2):

Thanks, but I've read the help, and the list there just gives the codes.  It took me a good bit of work to figure out which codes went with which systems, and that's how I uncovered the few that don't seem to have codes from that list associated with them.

Here's my complete list so far:

System Code     Game System
===============================================
1ring           The One Ring
1roll           One Roll Engine (ORE)
8ball           Magic 8-Ball
advant          Advantage
ars_sd          Ars Magica Stress Die
artesia         Artesia
coda            CODA
d6c             d6 Classic
d6l             d6 Legends
dead            Deadlands
deck52          Draw from a standard deck of playing cards
deck54          Draw from deck of playing cards with two Jokers
earth           EarthDawn
earth3          EarthDawn, 3rd Edition
ex              White Wolf Exalted
fengsh          Feng Shui
fmwerk          FrameWerk
fudge           FUDGE/Fate Dice
                Full Light/Full Steam
hackap          Hackmaster Basic, Advanced Penetration doesn't seem to work
                Hackmaster Basic, Advanced Backstab
hackp           Hackmaster Penetration
hero            Hero (Champions)
                Hero, 5th Edition, Killing Attack
                Hero, 5th Edition, Killing Attack
ricochet        Ricochet
rifts           Rifts
rm              Rolemaster/Spacemaster
sh              Shadowrun
sh4e            Shadowrun, 4th Edition
sho             Shadowrun, Open Test
spooky          Spookyengine
sorc            Sorceror
swee            Star Wars:  Edge of the Empire
tat             Tunnels and Trolls
tros            The Riddle of Steel
unisys          UniSystem
wod1e           World of Darkness, 1st Edition
wod2e           World of Darkness, 2nd Edition
wod2es          World of Darkness, 2nd Edition, Specialized
wod3e           World of Darkness, 3rd Edition
wod3es          World of Darkness, 3rd Edition, Specialized
nwod            World of Darkness - New World of Darkness
nwoda           World of Darkness - New World of Darkness, Armoury
nwodcd          World of Darkness - New World of Darkness, Chance Die
nwodcw          World of Darkness - New World of Darkness, Clan Weakness

(There are gaps in my knowledge at this point, as shown in the table above.)

I confirmed what I could by actually creating links and examining their output in the dice roller.

Example:  [dice=1d6 system=d6l target=4 text="Is this d6 Legends?"]

(And, examining the dice roller, yes, it is.)

RPoL Dice Roller - System-Specific Options

Thank you, Skald.

I just looked again, and the codes I was missing were not in the Help for the dice roller.  Also, the code for d6 Legends was given incorrectly as "dcl" instead of d6l.

I'm enjoying working through the various features and learning more about how to be a good GM from a technical standpoint.  I'm still amazed at how powerful and flexible the toolkit for GMs is here on RPoL.  I hope the work I'm doing (and the questions I'm asking) will also help improve the toolkit and the Help documentation, too.

Thanks Again,
D
